My Chance - The Vamps fanfiction

Chapter 21

"Elle you need to get them checked out, it doesn't look safe" his concerned voice caused me pain, as I looked into his eyes I couldn't help but feel guilty.

"I've got an appointment booked but I need to hide it from the boys somehow"

"I'll take you and we can just say we're catching up, they won't question it."

"You don't have to do this you know"

"I'm coming with you no matter what, I want to be there for you" he sincere words rung through my ears and just a I was about to thank him my phone beeped signifying I had a text.

Tristan: Sorry to interrupt but you guys are needed for rehearsals:)xxx

"Sorry to cut this short but we've got to go, we're needed at rehearsals" I said pulling him up.

"But why are we needed? We're not performing" he asked, a confused expression falling across his features.

"Well, yes we are" I said hurriedly pushing him out of the door.

"Please explain" he begged as we began to walk back to the arena. I told him Tom's plan and he seemed to get happier every second. "Elle, this is amazing you do realise they've been my idols since-"

"Since you were ten, yes I know, but you're going to have to learn the songs in less than 3 hours, can you manage that?" I asked.

"I know most of them anyway Elle, I'm sure I'll manage." He smirked as we entered the building. We were greeted by the sound of the Vamps playing onstage and I listened intently as they sang wild heart. It reminded me of the first day I'd met Tristan and I heard him and Connor singing it in his bedroom. I lead Elyar to the stage and we sat in standing area watching the boys perform.

"So which ones which?" He asked.

"Brads the curly one, Tristans the really blonde one, Connors the one that looks like me and James is the muscely one." I said pointing to each of them in turn.

"You're so good at describing people Elle" he laughed looking a each of them in turn.

"Shut up, how would you describe them?" I asked jokingly.

"Drummer, bassist, guitarist and lead singer" he said pointing at each of them as he named their roles.

"Oh be quiet" I laughed hitting his arm. We continued to play fight for the next 5 minutes until the music stopped and the boys came off stage.

"Hey guys," Tris shouted running over to us.

"Hey Trissy" I shouted back. He came to a vault next to us while the others sauntered over.

"Is this my competitor then?" Tristan said with a fake glare towards Elyar.

"Don't be mean, guys this is Elyar, Elyar this is Tristan, Brad, Connor and James" I introduced them all and they all smiled politely at each other.

"Nice to meet you guys" Elyar smiled warmly at them. I get Brads hand snake around my waist and he pulled me closer to him.

"You too" the others said in sync, I noticed a hint of jealousy in both Brad and Tristans faces but I decided to shake it off.

"How's your day been?" Brad asked me quietly.

"Amazing, what about you?" I replied looking up at him.

"It's perfect now" he smiled placing his soft lips on mine and kissed me softly.

However, before anything else could happen, Connor shouted "Brother in the room guys" making everyone else laugh.

"We need to practice the song, do you want to watch Elyar?" James asked politely.

"Yeah sure, I'll just stay here" he smiled sitting down on the floor and crossing his legs like a five year old.

We made our way onstage and joined McFly and Busted as the prepared there instruments.

"How are we going to do this, there's 13 of us onstage?" I asked curiously looking at how crowded it had suddenly become.

"You and Elyar are going to start in the audience over there and walk up here during the section of bubble wrap" Tom said pointing to the left at the back of the audience. Knowing that bubble wrap started the mash up I knew we'd be on stage for when the heart never lies started. "They'll be an area for you to walk up to the stage don't worry. Matt and James will do the same thing on the other side but during the heart never lies."

"Okay, sounds good, but what about the others?" I asked.

"The Vamps will just be performing next to us, when you guys get up here we'll split off into groups, drummers at the back, bassists to the left, lead singers in the middle and guitarists to the right" He explained.

"Great, I'll tell Elyar and get into position then" I replied walking over to where Elyar was testing his mic. "We start over there, we need to find our places" I told him and he followed me over to where Tom had pointed earlier. We found two reserved seats at the front of one of the blocks, one at either side. In front of us was a walkway back to the stage and on the opposite side I could see the same thing.

"Ready when you are" Elyar called back to the stage and we soon heard the music begin to play.

"Now, we've got something very special planned for you guys today," Mr Antastic shouted into his microphone to get the crowd excited. "We've got a few special guests with us today, hit it Tom" the familiar intro of bubble wrap filled my ears and I knew this was my queue.

"I wish I could bubble wrap my heart" I stood up and starting singing, the whole audience confused as to where the noise was coming from. After a few seconds everyone's eyes were on me, Elyar stood up and sang along with me and the audience erupted into cheers. I shot him a nervous glance but he just grabbed my hand as we walked down the coned off area together. Everyone was screaming and reaching out to us as we walked past, desperate to get a picture. When the song changed to the heart never lies, I looked over to the opposite side of the arena and saw James Bourne begin to sing along with me, Matt was also standing up a made there way towards the stage.

I'd never seen such an excitable crowd, it was overwhelming for everyone by the looks of it. We climbed onto the stage and we're joined by Busted and McFly. We were still waiting for the Vamps to make their entrance.

After brainstorming before, it was obvious the stage would be too crowded with 13 people running around on it so the Vamps were to fly over the top of the crowd on a see through platform along with Elyar and myself. Elyar tugged my hand and I turned to the back of the stage to see everyone else in position. Still singing along with the other I made my way onto the platform and began one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life. As we rose above the crowd I could hear the shouts of people below me. Some were singing along while others were just screaming at the top of their lungs.

As the tune changed from star girl to the last song I knew this was where I was finishing so I made the most of my moment in the limelight. I sang my heart out, no longer feeling the pressure and enjoying myself for once, I'd completely forgotten about my nerves. This was an amazing opportunity and I was glad I'd accepted it.
