My heart is heavy with regret,
But I know I did what's best.
I know that we'll both be sad,
But please don't be mad.
I did all that I could,
To make this work.
I tried when you didn't,
Fought when you wouldn't.
I wish you had tried,
But I couldn't force you to.
I wish you had cared,
But you just didn't.
I didn't do this to hurt you,
I know it'll be hard,
But I did this to help.
Now we can both move on,
And live a life that doesn't feel so wrong.
