READER'S P.O.V.
I can't believe I ended up in the same class with one of the most gorgeous boys in school. How is it even possible for someone to be so perfectly adorable? I sigh to myself, looking wistfully in the direction of the handsome boy.
"Wah! [Y/n]?! Stop staring at Jungkook-oppa, you'll scare him away."
"Sorry, Aubrey. I can't help it. He's just so... beautiful. I can't believe he's in our class."
"If you're so gaga over him, why don't you go talk to him?"
"Because I'm not insane?! If I were to go over there and talk to him, what would I even say? I probably won't be level-headed enough to say something that makes any sense!" I had realized a few seconds later that I probably shouldn't have said it that loud. But I was thankful for the bell that rang almost immediately after because I don't think I'd be able to take peoples' stares for much longer. Since class was about to start, everyone went to a desk and arranged themselves in silence, waiting for the first day routine.
JUNGKOOK'S P.O.V.
I was sitting at my desk, waiting for class to start. It's the beginning of the year and I'm really excited because there's a cute girl in my class. I stare straight at the board, but strain my ears to listen for her voice. "Sorry, Aubrey. I can't help it. He's just so... beautiful. I can't believe he's in our class." What did her friend say? Who is she staring at? Who does she think is so attractive? My heart sinks as I think she is talking about the boy sitting next to me. He is kind of short, but has a good, strong build. He kind of looks like my friend Jimin-hyung. "If you're so gaga over him, why don't you go talk to him?" I hear her friend pressure her.
"Because I'm not insane?! If I were to go over there and talk to him, what would I even say? I probably won't be level-headed enough to say something that makes any sense!" I wish I was good enough for the girl to say those things about me. As soon as she says this, the bell rings and everyone returns to their seats, waiting for the teacher to begin telling us about the class rules.[...] After class ended, I had decided I would try to talk to the pretty girl at lunch. Maybe I'll ask for her name. A few classes later, the bell sounded for us to go to lunch. I sat at a table with my hyungs: Taehyung, Jimin, Hoseok, and Namjoon. There were two other boys that we would hang out on a daily basis, but they were already out of school.
When we got our lunches, I talked with the hyungs about classes. "Hey, Kookie. Find any girls today?" I hear Hoseok-hyung ask suggestively. I don't reply, but my face heats up. This is all it takes for hyung to get my answer, knowing I have seen a very pretty girl. "It's okay, Kookie. You can tell us. Who is it?"
"I... I don't know. I don't know her name, but I was going to ask her after I was finished with my lunch. She's over at that table," I say quietly, pointing in the direction of her table.
"Well okay. I see why you think she's pretty. She is a nice one, maknae." Namjoon-hyung tells me that he likes her too. I finish my lunch and timidly make my way over to her table.
"A-annyeong. My name is Jungkook. We have a class together."
"I know," she says, her cheeks turning pink as she turns her head to look at the ground. "My name is [y/n]."
"That's a very nice name. You look pretty, your voice is pretty, and your name is pretty. Why so pretty?" I ask, using one of Jin-hyung's pick-up lines.
"I'm not very pretty, but thank you. It's nice to hear that from someone that is very attractive. Even if it's a lie."
"I wasn't lying. I seriously think you are beautiful. I actually think you are more beautiful than everyone else in this school."
"...Thank you," she whispers, a shy grin spreading across her face and her cheeks getting even more red. She's so adorable.
"Would you like to go on a date with me?" The question slips from my brain and inadvertently comes out of my mouth. My breathing stops as I wait for her answer since I can't take the question back. Her eyes widen and she looks up at me.
"Yes... I would love to," she says before the bell rings which signals lunch has come to an end. She takes a step closer to me, giving me a slight peck on the cheek before getting her bag and running out of the cafeteria to her next class. My cheeks heat up and a smile spreads across my face as I return to my lunch table, retrieving my backpack and going to my next class.
