We were hugging for what seemed hours, his hair brushed my jawline as he sobbed. I rubbed his back in attempts to console him, although I was unable to hold back my own tears.
Eventually we broke our grasp, Gerard wiped his nose on his sweater sleeve."I'm sorry about your shirt." He murmured sadly
"Don't worry about it. Um- would you like some coffee or tea or-?" I asked trying to busy myself.
"Coffee would be nice, thank you." He said to the floor. I nodded and made my way to the kitchen. I could feel Gerard's presence behind me.
"I want to know everything." Gerard whispered, making me turn around. Out of the corner of my eye I could see him reaching his hand outwards towards my own. However, before he could reach my palm he stopped himself and pulled his hand away.
"Everything?" I asked puzzled
He nodded. "I want to know everything about my baby." He smiled. "My baby. My baby." He grabbed my hand with excitement.
"My baby. My baby! My baby!" He sang and smiled bigger. He took my other hand in his. "My baby." His voice quieted and his face was becoming closer and closer to mine.
"The baby's due in a month." I whispered slightly. "He or she is doing just fine, perfect growth, strong heartbeat. And so beautiful. Oh Gerard their so beautiful."
"Just like you." He leaned down and brought his hand to my cheek. His lips just brushed my own, his breath smelt of mint and soda. He suddenly stopped himself again.
"I'm sorry - is - are we-? Is this okay?" He asked gesturing between us.
"No pun intended but yes I'm okay." He laughed loudly and pulled me in for a more passionate kiss. Electricity ignited in me and I smiled into the kiss.
