The New Girl

Occam's Razor

Mia's POV...

I arrived at my new school in Stoneybridge and walked through the hall, I noticed everybody was staring at me and I put my head down, letting me hair fall in front of my face. I ran into someone and we fell to the floor, "I am so sorry, I wasn't looking where I was going." I said. Then I smelt something, it was another wolfblood, I grabbed all of my stuff and suddenly I was being dragged into the girls bathroom. "What are you doing here." She asked. "I came to get away." I said. "Your in my territory." She said. "I just came to get away from my old town, so if you don't like me here, deal with it." I said and walked out leaving her there. I walked down the hall and suddenly saw this flyer for photography, I signed it and headed to the principles office. "Mr.Jeffereys I'm the new girl, I wanted to get my schedule." I said. "Ah, you must be Mia." He said. I nodded, "here, have you met anybody new yet." He said. "Yes, sir, but kind of got off on the wrong foot." I said. "Sorry to hear that, but for now, let's head to class you have me first so let's go before we're late." He said. We walked into the classroom "ok everyone, take your seats, we have a new student, this is Mia." He introduced. I took my seat and noticed that girl was here, I ignored her and focused on class. After school I walked outside and I looked around, I ran into the woods and stopped at the river. Then I heard something behind me, I looked back and saw nothing. I looked around, then I could smell something, I could smell that girl from school and this other guy, both wolfbloods. I was on the edge of the river and suddenly, the edge broke off and I fell back onto this thick piece of wood, I couldn't move my left ankle. They both came running out of the bush and saw me, "help me, I can't move." I said. I threw my bag to the grass and made sure my phone wasn't in my pockets. "Maddy what do we do?" The guys asked. "I don't know, Rhydian, what are we supposed to do?" She asked. "Can one of you just help me already?" I said. There was this waterfall coming up, I looked over and saw it was getting closer quickly. I was able to get myself up and I looked around for a way out, I couldn't jump, I couldn't even take a step without my ankle hurting. I noticed the waterfall was right there, I somehow jumped in and landed in the water, I went up for air and looked around, I looked up to see the thing of wood coming right for me, I tried to block it but it hit me in the head and I blacked out. I floated in the water and sunk to the floor, I heard a splash from above me. I felt something grab my arm and pull me, once we were above water I coughed and opened my eyes. They sat me on the edge, I looked at the guys who was still in the water. He accidentally hit my left foot making my ankle move, which hurt very much. "Ow." I said. "What?" He asked. "My ankle, I can't move it." I said. "Here, let me see it." The girl said. I showed her my ankle. "It doesn't look broken, but I don't know for sure." She said. "I'm Maddy by the way, I'm sorry for earlier." She said. "I'm Rhydian." The guy said. He got out and sat next to me, "I'm Mia." I said. "Here, let's get you back to my place and me parents can look at your ankle." Maddy said. I nodded and we walked to Maddy's house, my arm around Rhydian's shoulder. When we got to her place, Maddy's mom looked at my ankle, "it's not broken, that's good, I'll call your mum, tell her to pick you up." She said. "Thank you." I said. She smiled and went into the other room, "so, the field trip is tomorrow, you think you'll be okay by then?" Maddy asked. "Yeah, I think I just twisted it a little, should be better by morning." I said.

The Next Day...

We arrived at Occam's Razor and Rhydian, Maddy and I were all pumped up because the full moon was today. Maddy bounced off the tree and I jumped on Rydians back, "Mia, Maddy, Rhydian, settle down." Miss Fitzgerald said. "Sorry Miss, we're just excited." Maddy said. We gathered in this area and it was crowded, Miss Fitzgerald started talking about the place and suddenly Maddy and I couldn't stay there much longer. We ran outside and leaned against a wall, I slid down sitting on the floor. "Is it going to get any worse?" I asked Rhydian as he came out. "Your last name is smith right, Maddy?" I asked. "Yeah, why?" She asked. "I'm supposed to go to your house for tonight." I said. "Awesome." She said. "Their up here, you guys missed it.." I stopped listening and kept leaning on the wall. I guess I zoned out for a little bit, Maddy tapped my shoulder and I looked over. "You ready to go back up?" She asked. "Yeah, let's go." I said. "We have an assignment for all of you." Mr.Jefferys said. Everyone groaned, "the first ones to complete the assignment will be given a prize." He added. We were all eating and Rhydian didn't really have anything good, Maddy tossed a chicken leg at him and he caught it, Tom looked at us weird. We split into groups and I went with Tom, Shannon, Maddy, and Rhydian. "Ok, how about you two take the church and the village and we'll take the rest." Rhydian said. We ran off and left Shannon and Tom there, then we ran into Jimmy and his two dumb friends. "Idiots ahoy! What are you doing Jimmy, stealing the crabs lunch money." We laughed. "Haven't got any, they're feeling the pinch." They laughed. "Tell you what, I'll settle for your worksheet answers." He said. "Help yourself." Rhydian and I said. We threw our folders at them, "their empty." They said. They took our backpacks and threw them on top of the boat shed, "go get it bleak boy, leap girl, go on." Jimmy said. We jumped up onto the roof and grabbed our bags I stepped onto the middle where I had to balance myself, Rhydian got on after me. Then there was this black thing covering the rest of the shed, once my foot was on it I fell and Rhydian fell on me. I yelled in pain, "GUYS!" Maddy yelled running towards us. Jimmy and his friends came running over as well, "don't touch them, they may have broken something, just go get help, Go!" Maddy said. "Maddy, you have to get out of here." Rhydian said. "I'm not leaving you two." She said. "You have to get out of here before the moon rises." I said. "And leave you two here alone?" She said. "We won't be alone, one of the teachers will be here." He said. "You can't transform in front of a teacher." Maddy said. Then Mr.Jefferys came running with Jimmy, "ok, Rhydian, nothing seems to be broken on you. Mia, you neither." He picked me up. "But the tide, sir." Rhydian said. "Don't worry, I had everybody meet back at the bus, 15 minutes early, if we hurry then we can still make it." He said. We got to the bus and Mr.Jefferys sat me down in one of the seats next to Rhydian. Jimmy got in and we rode away, I felt this stabbing pain in my rib and I held it. "Mia, what's wrong?" Rhydian asked. "My rib, it feels like I just got stabbed." I said. I leaned back a kept my hand close to my chest, "should we tell Mr.Jefferys?" Maddy asked whispering. "No, if you do, he'll call a ambulance and I'll most likely transform in a hospital bed." I whispered back. "It's only a couple hours till the moon rises, I can get through this." I said. We arrived at this place and we all got out, Rhydian and I sat down and I put my leg up next to Rhydians, Maddy went to go call her parents and we sat there. Then my phone rang, I picked it up and heard my mum, "hey mum." I said. "What happened?" She asked. "Rhydian and I were messing around and we fell." I said. "Mia, you guys need to be more careful." She said. "I know, I gotta go, we got stuck here because of the tide and everyone is going to their rooms." I said. "Ok bye." She said. I hung up and put my phone in my pocket, "we have two available down stairs bedrooms." Miss Fitzgerald said. We followed her and Rhydian went to his room first and I went to my room, then soon Maddy came in my room. "Hey, how's your rib?" She asked. "Still hurts, not as much though, I still need to check it out." I said. I stood in front of the small mirror and lifted my shirt to the spot it had hurt at, there was this giant black and blue spot on my rib. "My mum said it should heal when you transform." Maddy said looking at it. "If it doesn't then this is going to be a tough transformation." I said. We laughed. "Let's head to Rhydian's room I've already been dragged around by Shannon, she's been acting weird lately." She said. We walked over and I knocked on the door then we walked in, "hey." I said. I sat on the bed and Maddy sat next to me, I laid back and let the pain from walking here settle. "You sure you can handle being on your own in your room?" Rhydian asked. "I once walked a mile after being beaten up and had a broken arm, I think I'll be fine." I said. "Was it on a full moon?" Maddy said. "No, but I think I'll be fine." I said. "We should all leave separately just so Shannon and Tom won't suspect anything." Rhydian said.
