Chapter 10

Jordan and I were currently standing in the woods. I had taught Jordan a bit of control, so that, if he focused probably, he could ignite specific parts of his body, like his hands.

This went on for a while, and, eventually, the sun began to set. "How you feeling?" I ask Jordan, smiling a little.

He smiles up at me. "Fine, thanks to you of course" he tells me.

I smile. "Well, you think you've had enough for today?" I ask, and he nods. "We could do it again tomorrow" I say, and he nods again.

"Just remember, find your anchor, or something that reminds you of yourself. It's not easy when your hound is desperate to fight, but I do believe that you can do it" I tell him. The beast would definitely be back tonight, and Jordan would have to fight it, however, it's easier to fight something when you know what your doing.

We start walking out of the woods, side by side, not talking.

We eventually reach Jordan's truck. "You need a ride?" He asks me. I shake my head.

"No thanks, my house isn't far from here" I tell him, smiling a little.

He nods. "Ok, I guess I'll see you tomorrow then?" He asks. I nod. "For sure" I tell him.

He hops in his truck and drives away. I turn around and begin walking through the woods back to my house.

Suddenly, I get the feeling that I'm being watched, and followed, but the scent wasn't familiar. I wait for whoever or whatever it is to catch up and get closer behind me.

Once I knew that it was closer, I whipped around and faced my 'stalker' and gasped. The beast stood about 3 feet away from me and snarled.

"Shit" I mutter. I couldn't take this thing on alone, it would kill me with ease and break me like a twig.

I shifted into my wolf form, my silvery fur sprouting from my body. I could at least try to run from this thing. I took of running, dodging trees and branches, but the beast was rapidly catching up.

Maybe I could slow it down. I made a sharp turn and charged at the beast, pounced, and sank my fangs into its neck.

It let out an ear piercing roar and whipped me off its body with ease and threw me to the ground. I let out a cry of pain and whimpered. Ok. That one hurt.

I forced myself to stand, despite my body's painful protests and went for the beasts legs, sinking my fangs in, and locking my jaw.

The beast struggled to get me off for a moment, but then grabbed me by the back of my neck, and whipped me towards a tree.

My back hit the tree with a sickening 'thud' followed by a 'crack'.  I couldn't stand this time, and I lay helpless on the ground, still shifted, spots dancing in my vision.

Theo's POV:

I was sitting in my bedroom, doing my homework. My parents weren't home, so it was just me.

Suddenly, an ear piercing roar rippled through the air, causing my head to shoot up. What the hell was that?

My thoughts were interrupted by my phone ringing. Scott. I answered it and pressed my phone to my ear. "Hey Scott, what's up?" I ask

"The beast is in the woods" he tells me.

"I know, I herd" I say, a small amount of sarcasm in my voice.

"Dude, Jessica is in the woods, she was helping Parrish" he tells me. A wave of nervousness washes over me. "Won't Parrish protect her though?" I ask.

"Stiles said that his dad said that Parrish just left the station, I don't know when he'll find the beast, or Jessica" he tell me, and I feel even more nervous.

"The least we can do is go and see if she was ok" he tells me.

"Ok, I'll go to her house and see if she's there" I say, remembering where she lives.

"Ok, I'll call you if we find anything"
He tells me. I hang up my phone and make my way downstairs and outside, sprinting to her house. I hope she's ok. . . . .
