I felt the cold glass press against my face as I stared out the bus window. Autumn had truly come and piles of dry, dead leaves lay in large piles along the road. People in scarfs and hats bustled by on the darkening streets as the bus wove up Kingsford street. Shops had already started their Christmas offers and pretty girls posed as elves on a large billboard seemingly advertising a chain of fast food restaurants.I pulled out my book from my bag and quickly found the place I stopped earlier that day. I'd been reading "The Shining" by Stephen King. I had only started it a few days ago so it hadn't got properly scary yet. Having seen clips from the movie though, I was slightly apprehensive of reading on. Wham's "Wake me up before you go go", one of my guilty pleasures, was quietly playing from the bus's radio. I couldn't lie whenever I heard this song I was dancing with George Michael in a glow in the dark outfit in my head. I positioned my eyes on my book again and was just reading the part where Wendy was talking about how moving to the "Overlook Hotel" was going to help their current family problems and bring them all closer together. Of course, I thought, this is how the world's most famous horror novel is going to end, with the Torrance family all happily sitting round a Scrabble board for the duration novel.

I suddenly got the uncomfortable feeling that someone was looking at me. I glanced over to the seat across from me and saw tall, gangly boy blatantly staring back at me. I looked down at the book feeling myself turning red. When I looked up he was still staring at me. Now this was a strange situation for me, usually guys didn't go about staring at me on buses. I looked behind me but the back of the bus was empty. During the rest of the journey I couldn't get into my book due to the fact that every couple of pages, I was looking up to see this guy staring at me. Now I have to admit I was beginning to feel slightly flattered, I mean this guy was fairly good looking in a bookish kind of way. I felt this was my Augustus Walters moment, where this guy was going to come over and say something about his rights to look at beautiful people. I figured I had nothing to lose, so I looked up and gave him my winning smile. That's when I noticed that this boy hadn't blinked once during the whole time he had been staring at me, then I noticed the line of saliva coming from the corner of his mouth... oh crap.
