"SHEILA! SHEILA GET DOWN HERE!" Sheila's mother called from downstairs. Sheila sat up and swung her legs over the side of the bed. She stood up and looked out the window, the sun had barely risen. She tilted her head in confusion. "The sun isn't even UP yet! Why do I have to be up?" She yelled downstairs, walking to the closet to get dressed. "BECAUSE IT'S YOUR FIRST DAY OF HIGH SCHOOL!" Her older sister Heidi yelled, then it hit her, like a brick to the head. She screamed and ran around her room, excited "OMG OMG OMG YAY!" She screamed running back to her closet and picking out a cute outfit for school. A cute galaxy sweatshirt, light brown shorts, and cute white and purple sneakers. She walked into the bathroom. She put on light purple eyeshadow and glittery strawberry lip gloss. She put her hair into a high ponytail and sprayed glitter into it. She put on a light blue bracelet and a golden heart chain necklace. She walked out and grabbed her phone, purse, headphones, gel pens, sketchbook, diary, and lucky stone. It was an opal her dad had found for her before he passed. She put all of her stuff into the bag and put it on. She took out her phone and headphones and plugged the headphones in. She put them on and put on Bea Miller radio on IHeartRadio. She walked downstairs and saw her sister waiting for her. "Oh my la, my little sis is growing up" she said, wiping away a fake tear. Sheila laughed, "Come on, you know I'll always be your little sister" she said "I knooooooow, but don't grow up too fast, you know this'll be the last year we'll see each other for awhile..." Heidi said sadly "I know, it's your senior year and then..." Sheila trailed off "Off to college I go..." Heidi said, sad at the thought of being away from her sister for so long. They pulled away from the hug "You know, I'm really gonna miss y-you" Sheila said, her voice cracking as she talked. Heidi could tell she was about to cry "shhhh, it's ok, it isn't forever, I promise" Heidi said, reassuringly. Sheila looked up at her sister, smiling through tears. Their mother popped out of nowhere, ruining the moment and said "Chop chop, you've gotta go!" Heidi and Sheila laughed and walked over to their mom, pulling her into a tight hug. Their mother smiled and hugged back gently. They stayed like that for awhile then pulled away. Heidi and Sheila both said their goodbyes to their mother and walked outside to school. Sheila listened to her music, blocking out the sounds of the busy streets.
They walked for awhile, about an hour, but finally got there. They said their goodbyes to each other and walked inside the school. They parted ways and Sheila went to the office to pick up her schedule. She put her phone and headphones into her bag and walked up to the person inside. "Hello, I'm assuming you're a freshman?" The man said "Yes, I'm looking for my-" she was cut off by him talking "Schedule? Why of course" He said, taking something out of a drawer. He handed it to her and she thanked him. She walked out and looked at the schedule "Hm, homeroom is... 2B, seems simple enough..." she mumbled to herself, heading to the class. She walked in to see 3 girls in the corner looking at her and whispering to each other. She could only make out bits and pieces of it like "Ha, tryin to be cute" and "haha, she thinks she can just walk in here and look at us" but they stopped whispering when some other students walked in, along with the teacher. The teacher walked to his desk and everyone walked to a seat. Sheila sat in the very back in the corner, farthest away from the whisper girls. She stared at the wall, not noticing a boy sitting next to her until he poked her saying "Hey," He started, she jumped slightly but then looked at him, a slight blush dusted across her cheeks "The teacher said we have the whole day to mingle with our fellow classmates. I'm Chris, what's your name?" He finished "I-I'm S-Sheila, n-n-nice to meet y-you" she said, stuttering "are you ok?" He asked "d-don't worry, I-I'm fine..." she said, he nodded "Anyways, wanna hang out sometime?" She asked, he smiled "of course!" He replied, Sheila smiled. A tall black haired boy walked over to her and Chris, 2 boys, one brown haired and one blonde, followed after him. "Chris, what the heck are you doing with a loser like this? Come hang out with the cool kids!" The black haired boy yelled. Sheila laughed at the boy, then immediately stood up and grabbed the boy by his shirt collar, looking him in the eyes. "Who're you callin a loser" she snapped at him. Chris stared at her in shock that she stood up to him. "Excuse me!?! I can call anyone a loser if I want, and I you can't do anything about it. And for your information, I called you a loser" He said, pushing her back. "Oh ho ho, you've made me mad now! How's about you be a dear and BACK THE F--- OFF!" She yelled, the boys looked shocked at her choice of words, the first boy smirked and poked her in the nose. "You're cute, how's about you come home with me?" He asked, now it was Sheila's turn to be shocked. "Um, first off, ew! Second off, bish, I ain't nobody's play girl! I'm not a toy to be played with, now get your childishness away from the blades" she said, the 3 boys walked away, Chris stared at her. "You just did that... oh my gosh you're epic!" He exclaimed "heh, I learned a few things from middle school." She said laughing. "Heheh, cool! Here's my number, call me sometime" He said writing a phone number down on a piece of notebook paper and handing it to her. She smiled and put it in her bag.
After a few hours it was time to go home, she smiled and waved bye to Chris, he smiled back and they parted ways. She put on her headphones and hummed along to the music. Soon enough she got to her house, she ran upstairs. She took out her phone and dialed the number and put the phone up to her ear. "Yello?" A deep, raspy voice on the other line asked "I'm Sheila, Sheila Dusk" Sheila stuttered. "I don't know a Sheila Dusk... CHRISTOPHER DOLAN WILCHESTER! GET YOUR STUPID --- DOWN HERE!" The man said 'w-what? O-oh no...' Sheila thought, she heard footsteps in the background on the other line, then a voice, assumingly Chris, say, "Y-yes, father?" "Who the h--- is this b-tch on the other line, she says her name is Sheila Dusk" He snapped, Sheila was offended but also afraid of what would happen next. "U-ummm, m-my f-f-friend" she heard Chris say. She heard a loud crack and a thump "HA! YOU CAN'T HAVE FRIENDS! YOU'RE JUST A WIMPY A**-HOLE!" She heard the other voice yell, then a long beep, meaning that the person hung up. "O-oh no... I hope he's ok..." Sheila said, setting down her phone on the nightstand and slipping on her pajamas. She climbed into her bed and fell asleep.
