Never Again

Chapter 3: The Barbeque

Saturday when I woke up I couldn't wait until the afternoon, I was so excited for the barbecue only one problem I hadn't told my parents yet.

I got up out of bed got dressed and made my parents a nice breakfast to bring up to them so I could get them in a good mood. When I finally finished I went into my parents room.

"Good morning!!!!" I yelled as I pushed the door open with my butt.

"Well it sure seems like it." My mom said as she rubbed her eyes.

"I brought you guys some breakfast."

"Thanks pumpkin I can't remember the last time you did that." My dad said.

"Well I can, it was the day you wanted to go to that concert with Hannah. What are you up to young lady?" My mom crossed her arms.

"Well.... Cody invited us all to a barbecue this weekend." I nervously said.

"Well that's fine, we can go as long as it's tomorrow, we are gonna be busy there's still some unpacking to do." My dad said.

"Oh ummmm, it's tonight, I forgot to tell you guys and I really want to go!!" I protested.

"Sorry baby girl but we have to finish unpacking."

"Dad please I really want to go!!!"

"Hold on, maybe she can go, I mean why not George, she's a very responsible young lady." My mom said.

"Yeah dad pretty please!!!"

"Your mom and I will talk about it now go unpack some more of your stuff!!!"

Around noon my parents told me I could go to the barbecue and I couldn't believe it!!! I ha to get ready cause the barbecue starts at 3:00 and goes until 9:00.

I ended up wearing my plaid t-shirt and a pare of jean shorts. I also put on some make up and put my hair up into a pony tale. I left around 3:30 cause I didn't want to get there early or to late.

When I got to his house there was a sign on the door that said to use the side gate so I did.

"Hey!!! Sarah I'm so glad you came!!! Did your parents come with?" Cody waved to me.

"No they let me come alone cause they have more unpacking to do."

"Okay, would like anything to drink or eat?"

"Water is fine, thanks."

Cody ran inside and brought out two waters for us to drink.

"So how do you like it here so far?" He asked as we walked over to a bench.

"It's nice I guess but your the only person I've really met and talked to."

"Good but I hope you meet more people."

"Thanks me too. How long have you been living here?"

"About my whole life!"

"That's cool, then I hope you could maybe show me around if you want."

"Me too, I really would like to get to know you Sarah, maybe you would like to go out with me?"

When he said this I couldn't believe it, we just met and he wants to get to know me, and that's when he leaned in. I leaned in and we kissed!!!

"I guess that's a yes." He said with a smile.

"Yeah I guess so." I said as he leaned in again.

It felt amazing, I couldn't believe he asked me out!!!!

The rest of the night we walked, talked an held hands a lot, we made a date for the next day. He said we would go downtown and walk around, hang out, and he would show me all his favorite places to hang out.
