Chapter One: Grace

Archer, my twin, follows closely behind, as we head slowly towards the glass ball. It rests peacefully on a stone pedestal in the dark gloomy cave.

I feel a tingly feeling climb up my back.

Finally, I can give Althea what she has always wanted, an object powerful enough to destroy Chamilize the Dragon.

A feeling of joy creeps up my back.

The Daylight Stars will finally be beat after the Sunflares have been enslaved for years.

I live in the safe haven called Qwortopia which is a hiding place the Sunflares use to prevent from being found by the Daylight Stars.

It is at this very safe haven that Althea and her warriors, others like us who are a part of the Sunflare organization, are planning against our enemies to win our freedom.

Chamilize the Dragon is the one leading the other side.

Right now, the enemies have the upper hand with the other three ancient items, the golden cup which was touched by Midas himself and the Last Djinn in a Bottle.

They each do a specific task to help the other side.

Now I am about to get my hands on the most powerful ancient item ever made.

Now, the only one left to be found is the Last Unicorn Horn.

“Grace is this….safe?

I mean….should we touch it with our hands?” Jason, my closest friend, asks.

A long piece on blonde hair falls into my blue eyes which are reflected on the Orb.

“What could happen?” I reply grabbing the Orb and placing it in a soft velvet bag.

Suddenly a groan sounds beneath our feet.

Next thing I know, the ground is erupting in flames.

“That could happen,” Archer says pointing. “We’re gonna be toast…besides Jason of course.”

Way to point out the obvious dear brother....

I think.

I feel heat climb towards my feet first.

I stand there like a statue.

I just HATE the feeling of heat.

Having water powers can make you cautious of anything warm.

I drop the velvet bag as Archer tries to pull me away.

“We have to leave…”Jason says over the roar of the flames.

“Get the bag!” Archer yells.

Crinkle berries.

I’m so stupid.

It’s a trap.

Who puts an ancient item on a pedestal in the middle of a cave?

I think as the flames lick up and around the bag.

Jason reaches in to grab it as if the fire wasn’t there.

The bag is covered in flames.

Archer gives out a blast of air, leaving a charred bag with wisps of smoke coming off of it.

A rumble shakes the walls around us as the cave walls start to crumble.

Jason yells something I can’t hear as the deafening sound of falling rocks blasts into my ears.
