She looked at him like he was crazy. Even though she was brutally drunk she still had some sense in her that she did not know this man."I really don't think I should, I'll just talk to a cop and tell him my situation." After what she just said he thought she was the crazy one now,"You can do that! You're drunk and underage, you would get into huge trouble." She was skeptical for a moment, but she still stuck to her plan."I'm willing to take that risk, I just want to go home and find my cousin. Thanks for trying to help though." She gave him a fake smile as she started walking away but he grabbed her hand before she could get too far. "I'm not gonna hurt you ok? I'm not a weird pedophile, I just wanted to help. Look, theres a cafe two blocks down. We can walk if you want I wouldn't be able to pull anything since we're in public ok?" The alcohol was still going through her blood stream, she was hot and felt dizzy. "OK, but if you pull anything I'll scream," he glanced at her before nodding in agreement.

As the two started the walk, the night was pretty cool for July, the silence between them wasn't awkward as she was too drunk to notice if it was. He, for some reason did feel uncomfortable and he wanted to break the silence,"So, tell me about yourself?" he asked looking down at her, she was looking straight ahead before she turned to look at him,"I'm 16, I live here in Davis with my cousin and uncle. What about you?" He thought for a moment trying to figure out what to say. " I'm 22, and I live in New York with my roommate." She listened intently and was curious to find out more. "So, what are you doing here in Davis, there's like nothing to do here." He nodded,"I'm here because today was my brothers birthday, he's the one that through the party and he insisted for me to come along so I agreed." She nodded to let him know she understood,"And what about the accent?" He chuckled, the question never failed to come around when he met someone new, his accent was a great conversation starter.

"Me and my brother were born in England and just last year we moved to this country, my brother Mike, wanted to go Uni and he figured out there were many good ones here in Connecticut, I on the other hand moved to New York. I wanted to live a bit more before I actually started school, I work at a radio station that plays rock all day and it pays good I'm happy with my life at the moment." She smiled at him, he was a very interesting young man, he wore his hair in a quiff, and he wore a Led Zeppelin shirt that was too tight on his arms, it made him look much more fit. He was very attractive. "What about you what do you do?" he asked to snap her out of her trance, she didn't seem embarrassed that she was caught staring at him, blame the alcohol. "I'm in high school, I'll be a junior this August. There's nothing really to my life though, I was born here, then I moved to Florida for a while, then I moved to Canada with my mom. My dad wanted me to go to high school here so I moved back here. But as soon as I turn 18 I'm leaving, I want to explore the world you know what I mean?" He nodded,"Yeah, I get you."

They came to a stop when they were in front of the coffee shop, he reached out and opened the door for them, she blushed at the action. "I'm going to call my uncle, wish me luck!" she said faking a laugh, fear clear in her voice. She knew she was going to be in big trouble. "Okay, I'm going to order us some coffee, sounds good?" she nodded as she headed towards the public telephone, she dialed her uncles number, waiting for a response. She felt like she was on a roller coaster, all her anxiety was building up to this moment for when the ride would finally drop 80 feet from the sky.

As she made her call, he ordered the two a coffee with milk and two sugars. He looked at her from where he stood next to the cash register, she was biting her nail. She looked so innocent as she stood there probably getting told off for her actions. He looked away and took the two coffees from the stand and walked over to an empty booth. Her call with her uncle ended and he was completely furious. He was on his way to pick her up from the coffee shop, she felt like crying. Her uncle was going to tell her dad tomorrow morning, she was scared for how she would have to pay for consequences. She walked to the booth were she saw Harry already sipping on his warm coffee. He looked up to her as she sat down and took her coffee waiting for her to tell him how the call went. She bowed her head down and grabbed her hair in destress,"What happened?" He asked.

"My uncle said he was on his way, and that tomorrow he's going to tell my dad, I'm so scared. I've never been this in trouble." She looked almost pale, all the color on her face was gone in a second. He wanted to hold her and tell her it would all be okay. For the rest of the night they sat in silence and finished their coffee. She noticed a familiar car pull up, she stood up to get out of the booth. "Thank you, Harry, I think my uncles here so yeah, bye." She waved at him and walked out the door towards the car.

She was gone and he was alone, the only remain left of her was an empty cup off coffee with a stain of pink lipstick at the top. He got up from the booth and threw away the two
empty cups. He walked out the small coffee shop and into the warm summer night.
