Where is everyone? Sam thought scouring the room he was in. The lights were out and he picked himself up off of the sticky kitchen floor.

"Elliot. Mum. Dad!" The panic became clear within his voice, shaky and scared. Sam was a relatively 'cool' guy, the towns bad boy, he never got scared about anything, but right now he knew something was up? Maybe we've been robbed, maybe I was knocked out, they could have been kidnapped. Ideas raced around his mind.

He jumped as the sudden noise of the front door startled him, he was reassured by the sound of his family chattering their way to the kitchen, however, this was not a normal topic of discussion for the Wicks family. They were talking about a family death. Who died?

"Mum." He called out, she walked into the kitchen completely ignoring him, unaware of his presence. She turned the light on, letting Sam fully see her mourning, tear streaked, miserable face. He was so confused. His Father walked in, a stiff business man, with no time for his family. Something had changed, his eyes weren't heartless and cold, they were full of sorrow and shock? Sam took a step back to take everything in and access the situation.

His mother looked directly at him, though he could feel her looking straight through rather than at. Slowly but surely he moved towards his mother, they had always had a close connection, closer than anyone else in his family, he thought she was angry at him.

With open arms he went in to hug his mother but he fell straight through and fell onto the kitchen side.

"Ahh! What? What's happened, mum look at me! Am I dreaming?" He must have been dreaming, it's impossible to fall through people, right? All of a sudden it sank in, the black clothes, the tears, the talk of death and lastly the small card his mother was holding; in memory of Sam Jonathan Wicks.

"Shit."
