Joji's POV

The rest of the afternoon was spent on the couch together. You woke up twenty minutes ago, but (Y/n) was still going strong with her nap. You studied her as she lied on your chest. Her eyes had dark circles and a few marks were streaked across her face. They didn't look like cuts, but almost as if someone had left a bruise after slapping her. Furrowing your brows, you brushed some fingers across them and felt no openings. They had to be bruises then. She flinched under your touch and you pulled back not wanting to wake or bother her. She seemed skiddish of people being around her or touching her. It amazed you that this was the same girl that had held up a mini mart with a gun right in front of your eyes.
When you had gone back to Australia you never thought back to the day you literally ran into her. She seemed like a hooligan, but when you saw those guys running after her you became worried. After that day, she never crossed your mind again. She didn't seem like she was super friendly or outgoing. Now that she was literally in your arms you were blown away how you never asked to stay in touch with her. She was beautiful, in and out.
The two of you had talked before she fell asleep and she had so much to talk about. Honestly you could have listened to her all day, but she needed rest. You let out a sigh as you gently gazed at her. Her eyes fluttered a bit before slowly opening. You felt weird for watching her so you shut your eyes quickly hoping that she would think you were sleeping. A small chuckle drifted into your ears and you opened your eyes to see her (e/c) orbs focused on you.
"Good try, George." She spoke with a sleepy, raspy voice.
You smiled at her voice and looked away up at the ceiling, "Sorry. And please just call me Joji."
"You're fine, and okay. I like George a lot, but whatever." Silence fell for a few seconds p, just the hum of the AC and the bustle of the streets outside. " Sorry I slept this whole time." She stretched underneath your hold a bit and you could feel her push closer to your body. She seemed to become familiar with you even after one day.
"You needed it." You looked back to her and gave a soft smile. Your eyes traced the marks on her face. Should I ask? I just want to know who did it, if she's okay being at home or not. Is it rude? Your thoughts raced quickly and you blurted the question before you knew it. "What are those marks on your face from?"
Her smile fell and she looked away reaching up to her face. "Oh, yeah.. Last night? Yeah well Rob and I got into it. He didn't just grab me sternly. He roughed me up, but I'm alive so it's cool." Speaking in a monotone voice, she focused back on you and gave a shrug. Her eyes were dull now and you could see the tiredness still under her eyes.
"(Y/n) just because this asshole didn't kill you doesn't mean it's fine for him to treat you like dirt."
She raised an eyebrow and gave off a smirk, "And what would you do if you saw him? Beat him up? He's fucking ex-mafia, good luck." You rolled your eyes and stared back up the ceiling. It was silent for a few moments. You felt your hands roaming her back, slipping underneath her shirt. Her body tensed and you didn't notice it that much, continuing what your were doing. She shifted on top of you and faced you, giving a cold expression.
Don't fucking do it Joji. Your eyes focused on her lips and flickered back up to her eyes. You leaned in, your lips crashing into hers like a wave. You felt chills through your face and neck. Suddenly her hands pushed against your chest and she was up on her feet. You fucked it up.
"I- I gotta go." She spoke in a panic as she grabbed her shoes, slipped them on, and grabbed her things as she padded to the door. You jumped to your feet to try to stop her and apologize but she flew out the door before you could say anything. She's never coming back, or worse.. Talking to me again. Oh my god.. You stood there staring at the door, not being to move your feet.
Just like that, you royally fucked up.

Your POV

Humming of the AC filled the empty air and you gazed at him blankly. His hands were on the small of your back and sent chills and shots of energy through your body. Get up, leave. Now (Y/n). You yelled at yourself to get out, but you were frozen by his touch. You couldn't even crack the smile you wanted to give him. It felt so nice to have someone long for you, but you couldn't trust him. You knew him for what, two days? All of a sudden, you felt his warm lips meeting yours and it didn't last for more than three seconds before you had yourself pushed up to your feet, shoes on, and everything in hand.
"I- I gotta go." You pushed the words out and left his apartment in a flash. Joji had jumped up to chase you but after you left, he never came out of his apartment. As you jogged down the hall you threw your jacket around your shoulders and slid your arms in. Next you rested your backpack straps on your shoulders and felt for your phone in your back pocket. Practically running down the stairs you felt your heart beating quickly. What was that feeling? You had a lightness in your stomach and you felt a bit light in the head. It wasn't a bad feeling though, it was a rush of adrenaline. You craved more, but he caused it. You couldn't continue on with that.
Reaching the lobby you pushed your way last the doors and stopped outside. You stared ahead of you, mind blank, face blank, but emotion was on a roller coaster. Kill me, kill me. He can't like me, why would he. You're just a fucking rat, shut up, you wish he liked you. He probably feels sorry. You internally fought with yourself as you moved your feet again and shuffled through the crowded sidewalk. You had no clue where you were going, but your feet sure did.
You walked for six blocks before reaching an alley. You turned right into and walked to the stairs leading to a basement connected to a shop above it. There were three people outside in the alley talking amongst themselves. You ignored them and walked down the steps into the door. A cloud of smoke greeted you and a blast of music. Your eyes fixed themselves to the new lighting of the room while looking for Toby. His read beanie sat on his head and you perked when you saw it.
"Toby!" You walked I his direction and waved an arm as a greeting. He turned and gave you a warm smile.
"Hey, how's my favorite? Sorry about that mix up by the way."
You rolled your eyes, "It's cool, I lived. Anyways, do you have something on you I can buy? Just take it from my next check please?" Your eyes turned into doe eyes and you stuck out a lip as you begged Toby.
"Oh my god, okay chill. What are you wanting?"
"Lightest dust you have on you now."
Toby nodded and shoved his hand in his pocket. He pulled out a big baggie and then a smaller one that was a half inch full of white powder. He held it out and gave a wink, "Be safe and don't get caught." You ripped it from his hands and gave a wide grin and nodded. Turning on your heel you quickly left out the small hole of a place. The cold New York air hit you as you walked up the steps. The baggie sat in your pocket, with a hand over it for caution.
Making any to the back of the alley you found a smaller path to another alley that was a dead end. When you entered the second alley you saw a dumpster its boxes next to it. You took the boxes and stacked them up in front of yourself as you sat and took out the baggie. You dumped some of the content onto the box and took out your wallets it of your back pack and found your id. You made a line and went to town on it. Leaning your head back when you finished, you wiped underneath your nose with a finger and shoved yourself up. Standing your id back in your wallet and then in your bag, you flung it on your shoulders and started out the small alley into the bigger one.
You slid into the crowd walking on the street and walked aimlessly. You weren't sure where you were headed again, just going with the flow. At this point you had no care about where you ended up. You had walked what felt like all over the neighborhood you had been in and even more, but when you reached a building and you mindlessly stopped in front of it. You felt some people shove you as you walked by, but you didn't move for them. Focusing your eyes on the apartment building you felt a familiarity and then it hit you, it was Joji's building. The same old dumb apartments held that same old dumb person that you were falling for.
"(Y/)?" You heard the deep voice of Joji and you turned. His eyes were red and a bit puffy underneath, like he had been crying. Your eyes avoided his as you looked down. You couldn't look at him. "What's wrong with you?"
You shot your head back up and glared at him. "Excuse me?" You had a bitter tone.
He shook his head and reached up wiping underneath your nose, "Nose is bleeding babe."
"Stop that." You instantly hit his hand away and took a step back. Joji didn't seem shocked by this and he looked down at his finger before wiping it on his pants. His face went into a puzzle and he pressed his lips together, eyes shooting back up at you.
"Is this fucking coke?" Your eyes dropped and you shook your head. "Don't fucking lie to me. Tell me." You felt frozen again a don Salk you could do was shrug. Joji stepped closer to you and wiped his finger off. His hand reached up and brushed against your skin. His fingers firmly grasped your face and his eyes were focused on you when you glanced back up. They were dark, but had a comfort to them.
"What?" That was all you could manage to say in a soft tone.
"Why do you hate yourself?"
"Because everyone else does." His face dropped along with his hand and his arms quickly wrapped you into a hug. You felt him gently squeeze you in his arms and you slowly put your arms around his torso. His mouth was right next to your ear and he spoke quietly.
"I don't hate you."
