"Hello welcome to 'Cool and Calm therapy', where we hope to help you in life . Please state your full name, age, date of birth, where you are from, who brought you here today and why you are here today or longer maybe."

My therapist said to me as I tried to contract on looking around her office. It was actually a very relaxing place; the walls were an bright yellow with white stars all around. She had a red fuzzy couch in the center of the room. Her desk seat right in front of the couch which was painted an even brighter green with white stripes running through it. On her desk sit a laptop, a cup of pens and pencils, an notepad, stapler and paper clips with a pile of different color paperwork sitting off in the corner.  I smiled  shaking my head at how crazy and bright it looked in here.

"Hi my na-name is Elva (El•Va) Trenton; I'm 17 years old. My birt-birthday is Oc-october 11, 2001. I'm from Jac-jacksonville, Florida. My dad bro-brought me here to-today and uh I'm here today bec-because I have a stu-stuttering prob-problem, I'm not g-good with talk to other pe-people, I have low self es-esteem and I f-fear being alo-alone."

"Hi Elva, it's really nice to meet you, my name is Martha Brown and I will be your therapist for a while. I am 42 years old. I have two children and I recently got married. My favorite color is yellow.  I decided to get my degree in child, teens and younger adults because I also grew up in a home where love wasn't the first option. My father was very abusive and my mother often drunk to numb the pain. I had to grow up at a young age to care for my younger brother and sister. Growing up I never had someone to talk to about my problems. I never had someone that could actually listen, pay attention, feel what I felt and know how to help or give me advice. And I promised myself that if there was ever a chance to help someone I would. When I started looking into colleges I found a college where I could still help my sister and brother and also get my degree and I was able to do that."
