Dear Chef ❦ (EXO D.O One Shot)

Kyungsoo Do's POV

Nandito kami ni mom sa resto. Nandito rin yung magaling niyang chef, and sad to say, that's not me. My mom is a food critique and she always adores every dish that she makes. While mom had a lot of things to say about my cooking, all she says when she cooks was 'Wow'. 

And for that I hate her. Mom has always been focusing on the restaurant. That's the main reason why I became a chef in the first place. 

"Good Morning Mrs. Do." bati ng staff kay mommy

"Good Morning Chef Do." bati nila sakin.

"Where's Ahra?" wow, siya agad ang hinahanap. Eh san mo pa ba makikita yan?

"She's in the kitchen ma'am. She's making a new dish. Para po sa opening ng branch natin uptown." Lyra, our restaurant's manager, answered.

Dumiretso naman si mom sa kitchen. And there she was, looking perfectly delicious. Yeah, yeah, I hate my self for this too-- falling for my rival. 

"I see your working on a new dish?" mommy

"Yes ma'am." Ahra answered, not looking towards us. 

Tsk, isa pa yan, suplada yan pero-- ang ganda. And another thing when she cooks, she takes it so seriously that she doesn't care about her surroundings.

"What kind of dish is that?" I asked. She stopped working and looked at me.

"I didn't know you're here Kyungsoo." she said then continued sautéing.

"It's seafood. Can you help me then?" Ahra. Wait! She wanted me to help her? Me? 

"Me?" I asked pointing to myself.

"Well, you are the only chef here besides myself." she answered.

"O-okay. Ano pa bang gagawin?" 

"Hindi ko pa nafi-fillet yung fish."

"Ako na, Chef Do." biglang dating ni Chef Kim

"Ako na, kaya ko naman eh." 

"Sige na, Si Heechul na bahala jan. Mag palit ka na lang muna tsaka mag apron ka na din." Ahra instructed.

Tss. Laging pabida yang si Heechul eh! Nakakaasar pa, close sila ni Ahra! Tatlo kaming chef na magkakabatch dito pero si Ahra ang Chef de Cuisine; ako ang Sous-chef; at si Heechul ay isa sa mga Chef de Partie. 

Chef de Partie: Lay (saucier <sosjé>), Heechul (poissonier <pwasoñe>) at Luhan (pâtissier <patisje>).

May tig-isang Commis sina Lay at Luhan. Si Ysa at Ash.

Yung ibang Chef de Partie di na importanteng makilala niyo pa. Chef de Cuisine ang incharge sa kahit anong may connection sa kitchen. Kitchen staff management, inventory and plating. 

Sous-Chef de Cuisine, ako yun! Second in command and direct asst ni Ahra. Mostly scheduling ako at pagtulong kay Ahra. 

Chef de Partie naman or commonly known as station chef, sila yung may individually assigned parts of the kitchen. Example, si Lay: Saucier siya, in english Sauté Chef. Si Heechul: Poissonier siya, in english, Fish Chef. Si Luhan naman Pâtissier-- Pastry Chef.
