Saying Goodbye

Saying Goodbye... Just a short poem I hope you all like it. My first work that I feel brave enough to upload (hides face)

We say it so often but do we really recognize

That it means no tomorrow or the day after

It is the end of any happiness or laughter

So just saying goodbye is pure lies

It’s watching a friend being buried

Having that last look upon their face

If you knew that was your last glance you would have hurried

But now moving on without is the future you have to embrace

It’s knowing that your friend is going to leave

And you rather ignore the truth than believe

That you’ll never have them close anymore

Knowing that life will soon become a bore

How can we take goodbyes so casual?

We say it so often but do we really recognize

That we say it we the surety of tomorrows

We become aware only with life’s shocking blows

That life is uncertain, we need to realize

Goodbyes are not to be spoken

We should continue  life with the chain  unbroken.
