"We can't wait to have you, Bella. See you in a week. Have a safe trip."

I smiled as I hung up the phone.

I'm moving to LA!

Even though I was sad that Chris had decided to pick Mandy over me, I'm glad that I was moving to LA to become a full time hair and makeup artist for Paramount Pictures! Plus, I'm getting away from all this Chris drama.

~

A few days had passed and I would occasionally see Chris. He would invite me over for lunch or dinner, but I said no. There was no point in getting worked up over him more since I'll be hitting the road in a few days.

As I was walking out to my car to put a few boxes that I had packed I saw Chris sitting on his porch. I waved, but he looked confused.

"Whats going on...?" He shouted down the sidewalk as he ran over to my car.

"Uh... well... I'm going to California. For work." I said, pushing my hair behind my ear.

"California? Oh, wow. Wow..." He trailed off as he scratched the back of his head. "When, were you planning on telling me this?" He seemed kind of mad.

"What? What do you mean...? I'm telling you right now." I said confused.

"Yeah I know. But if I hadn't of come over here, where you even planning on telling me? I mean come on. When are you leaving?"

"Two days..."

"Two days?!" He was practically yelling. "Seriously Bella? Talk about last minute."

"I'm sorry, it's just-" I began before he cut me off.

"It's just what? I thought we were-" He paused. "Friends. And you've been denying hanging out with me ever since. How do you expect me to be able to say goodbye if I can't even spend time with you before you go?" He face was full of anger and concern.

I felt really stupid. Of course I should have told him. We were... friends, after all. He deserved to know.

"I know. I'm really sorry Chris, I've just been super busy packing and I didn't really know how to tell you and..." I put my hands in my face. I was so embarrassed and felt so bad.

He sighed. "Its okay." He walked over to me and wrapped his arms around me. "If its okay with you, do you want to hang out tomorrow?"

"Yeah, that would be great." I smiled.

That night, all I could think about was how  I couldn't believe I was letting myself get close to him again and let myself have stronger feelings for him. And then just like that I would be gone for LA the next minute while he was off marrying Mandy. I was just setting myself up for a heartbreak. But I guess I owed it to Chris to see him before I left.
