Riley's pov.
I'm about to leave for school. My dad is taking me and uncle Josh to school today. It's kind of weird that my uncle and me are in the same grade, but he started school kind of late in kindergarten. He's almost a whole year older than me. None of my friends have ever met him, but I have to keep him with me, we have the same classes, and I've been to the school before and he hasn't. I have to make sure he has friends and finds his way. It's weird that he's living with us now though. I don't know if I'm ready for that, one more guy in the house is awful. Uncle Josh is pretty cool though, he should fit in with my friends well.
Josh's pov.
First day of highschool at a new school. This is going to be awful, my niece is in all my classes, and my brother is one of my teachers. I'm so done already. I'll find my own friends, I don't need Riley's. Me and Riley just walked in the school.
Riley- okay Josh, we can meet up with my friends.
Josh- well, actually I'm going to go make my own friends.
Josh walks off and Maya and farkle come up to Riley.
Farkle- where's your uncle?
Maya- yeah, I thought he was supposed to be here today with us.
Riley- he went off to make his own friends.
Maya- okay then.
Riley- where's Lucas?
Maya- I don't know, haven't seen him yet.
Riley- oh, well, we'll see him in class, first class, history, with my father.
Maya- oh Matthews, my favorite!
They walk to class and sit down. The bell rings.
Maya- no Lucas.
Riley- no Josh.
A couple minutes later Cory is calling roll call. And Josh and Lucas walk in.
Cory- 3 minutes late on the first day mr. Friar, I did not expect this kind of behavior from you, don't make a habit of it.
Lucas- I won't
Cory- who's that friend behind you?
Lucas moves over so Cory can see.
Cory- mr. Matthews.....?
Josh- hey cor
Cory- I'm brother, or mr Matthews to you. Got it?
Josh- yes.
Cory- I do not expect you to be late to my class anymore.
Josh- okay.
Cory- students, this is my first day of highschool also. So bear with me. For those of you who didn't have me in middle school, this is Riley, she's my daughter, that is my brother Joshua.
Josh- it's Josh
Cory- Joshua. Anyways, let's move on.
Cory has his one hour speech about how some history lesson relates to being late.
They go to all of their classes for the morning and sit down for lunch. He girls and farkle sit down first then Josh and Lucas sit down.
Josh- why are we sitting with them?
Lucas- these are my friends.
Josh- well then.
Riley- hey Josh!
Josh- hey riles...
Lucas- this is farkle and Maya. And of course you know Riley.
Josh- yes, yes I do know Riley.
Riley- I thought you were going to make your own friend Josh.
Josh- I did, and he just happened to be your friend.
Riley- yep.
Later that dad, their last class of the day is health.
Maya- Riley, why does it say that your dad teaches health.
Riley- I don't know, my schedule says that too.
They walked into the classroom.
Cory- welcome to health class!!!!!!
Riley- I'm not doing this!!!
Cory- yes you are!
Riley- mayaaaa!!!
Maya- what!
Riley- I'm not doing this!
Maya- it's going to be okay!!
