Benjamin's POV

Did she run every morning? I was sitting by the window when I saw her run by, she was with a friend. I realized she had never replied to my 'goodnight' text. She reached the end of the street, & she sat down on a bench. I picked up my phone & typed,

'How's your run so far?'

I stared at it for a few seconds. I waited u till she got back up to press send. I stayed watching from my window. She waved her friend on. That meant she would be running back alone. I put my cup of coffee down & ran to put on a pair of jeans & a clean shirt. She read my text. I ran outside after her before she could get away, now was my chance.

"Hey, Mallory!"

I walked up in front of her. We were face-to-face. I liked that.

"How the hell did you get my number?"

"Is that really important?"

"You're creepy. You're freaking creepy. & how did you know I was out on a run?!"

Did I really have to explain? I saw her look at my window, she saw the open curtain. Perhaps she didn't know it was me.

"I couldn't sleep, & I needed to get my mind off a few things so I grabbed a cup of coffee & sat by my window, I saw you run by."

"So you were the house with the open curtain?!"

"Yeah."

"Oh my god."

"I'll run back with you. I mean since you waved your friend on, you're alone now. I can keep you company."

"No I don't need you to babysit me. In fact, I don't need you in my life. I don't know you!"

How could she be so rude? But there was something I had left unsaid. Something I still had the chance to say.

"I'm sorry, Mallory. But have we ever met before?"

She gave me a look. This face, like she was lost.

"Are you crazy?! I mean, other than the club, I've obviously never met you before! You're crazy! Definitely crazy!"

"You just seem so familiar. I've met you somehow somewhere. I don't know I might have the wrong girl."

"Yeah, I bet you do. I'm gonna go now, bye."

I wasn't going to let her get away. I grabbed her arm, she looked back at me. I still had one more thing i had to say.

"I know you think i'm weird, i'm crazy, & there's probably other things too. But if we could just have one cup of coffee together or a sandwich or something, anything. Would you mind?"

"You really think i'm gonna sit down & talk to you over food or coffee?"

"Just once. Just one time. Please."

She rolled her eyes. She looked around & then rolled her head back towards me.

"Okay, fine."

"Great thanks. Um, meet me at Starbucks?"

"Sure."

"How does 12 sharp sound?"

"I'll met you there."

I can't mess this up again. I can't believe this just happened I can't believe she agreed to it.
