*Back Story.*

*Carter's POV When She Was 8*

"You are the one who cheated on me!"
My mom yelled to my dad.

"Honey go upstairs!" My mom yelled at me.

"No stop fighting!" I yelled back. They have never fought like this.

"Go up stairs now!" My dad yelled at me.

I begin to cry even more than I already was. My mom grabbed her keys and stomps out of the house, runs to her car crying. I ran out with her wanting to go wherever she is going.

"Mommy! What are you doing!" I yell running over to her.

"Honey. Me and your father aren't getting along very well anymore. We aren't going to be together." She said hugging me.

"Mommy why? I love you. I don't wanna live with just daddy." I said hugging her tight.

"I know but I'll see you again honey just not right now. I love you so much you are the best kid in the whole world. I just have to do what's best." She said getting into her car and driving away. I run inside and into my room and I locked the door. I began to shiver. I feel like my whole entire life would never get better for me.

I heard my dad punching things downstairs, breaking stuff and yelling at himself. I cried so much, I couldn't believe what just happened. My whole family. Had been destroyed.

*3 years later*

I am now 11 years old and my dad is the Sheriff of the town, things are a lot better for me and my dad, I see my mom once a month and my dad has enough money to afford the whole family. We bought a new house in a safer neighborhood. My dad is now a foster parent for 2 kids named May and Winter. We get along really well and have a lot of things in common.

*2 years later*

We eventually adopted May and Winter and recently adopted a new brother named Jackson and we are a really nice family. I don't think my dad will get anymore Foster kids though, we are a harsh part on him but I know he loves us a lot.
