Jayde's POV
"OMG LEXIE GUESS WHAT," I screamed to my roommate who wasn't even ten feet away from me.
"Is it something about that blonde emo kid again?" she said rolling her eyes. She knows me too well.
"YES AND HE'S IN SAN DIEGO RIGHT NOW," At that point I was jumping up and down on the couch.
"YOU NEED TO CHILL. It's not like anything's actually gonna happen between you two. He's probably just gonna do a photoshoot or something today and then go back to whatever southern state that cowboy's from."
No matter how bad I wanted to slap Lex across the face, I knew she was probably right. Even if I somehow run into him, he's probably not even going to have time to talk to me. But did I let Lex know I thought she was most likely right? Of course not. "First of all, IT'S TEXAS. And second, I'm going to drive around the city and find Dalton right now," I walked over to grab my shoes and my keys.
"Good luck finding one person out of the three million that live here," Lexie said with a smug look on her face.
"Wow thanks for the support I really appreciate it," I said sarcastically.
I got in my car and started driving downtown. It's always the most crowded area, and I have no clue where else I would find Dalton. Downtown San Diego is where all the important stuff happens so I think it's probably the best place to look.
I decided to go Seaport Village first. I'm not really down to walk around a bunch of malls so I thought of a much quicker way mwahaha.
I walked up to the customer service kiosk with a super worried look on my face. "Excuse me sir, I've lost my brother. I was wondering if you could call his name on the speaker?"
"Of course! What's his name."
"Thank you so so much. It's Dalton Rapattoni."
He brought the microphone closer to his face and said, "Dalton Rapattoni, you're sister is here at... wait isn't that the guy from American Idol?" He turned off the microphone and glared at me.
"Oh whoops I guess I confused him and my brother thanks for the help bye!" I quickly said and then rushed back to my car.
Well if Dalton was there, he probably already got freaked out and left when he heard that weird announcement. Oh well, on to the next place.
I pulled into a parking spot at Westfield Horton Plaza and started walking toward the complex. It's probably not the best idea to have someone announce Dalton's name again unless I'm trying to scare him away. Which meant I had to walk around the whole mall. Great. I wish they had a Lush. That would make it 9538185939 times easier to find him.
-two hours later-
I walked around the whole freaking mall for no reason. I definitely deserved food. I went over to the food court and waited in line at Cinnabon. I got my cinnamon bun and then sat at a table.I started eating and tried figuring out where to go next. There's so much to do here. How the hell was I going to find him?
"Ugh this is hopeless!" I said aloud and threw my hands in the air.
"Are you alright?" I heard from behind me.
No. Freaking. Way.
I slowly turned around and saw a head covered in blonde hair. I almost flipped my shit, but then I saw the face of an elderly woman. How in the name of Rapattunchi did I convince myself it sounded like Dalton? Great, now I'm a 19 year old obsessed fangirl AND I'm hearing things.
I smiled at the woman and said "yes I'm okay thanks for asking."
She nodded with a smile and walked away.
Looking for Dalton was a stupid idea. I was walking through the food court to leave when I saw some blonde spiky hair out of the corner of my eye. I was afraid to look.
I thought for a little while:
'Jayde calm down there's no way it's him.'
'But what if it is! I can't leave knowing I could've just walked past the loml.'
'Okay. Don't get your hopes up. Look over there but don't get disappointed when it's not him.'
I took a deep breath and turned around. I saw a group of guys getting up to throw away their trash. One of them looked up at me and I saw a familiar face greeting me with a gorgeous smile. He waved at me and I felt his piercing sea green eyes burn a hole through my heart... in a good way. I returned the smile and wave and then he turned around to walk with his friends.
I zoned out for a second, still mesmerized by the angel who had just acknowledged my existence. By the time I partially snapped out of it, he was gone. Great job Jayde you screwed it up again.
