Your POV

I hate mornings. The only thing good about it is breakfast other than that, nothing. I lay in bed for a good hour going through all my social media, emails, texts, and what not until Camila calls me making my mornings more better. And that's my morning routine except Camila didn't call this morning because I told her not to, only because she's been with her Family spending time with them at a hotel and I want her to actually spend time with them and not be talking to me all day.

But other than that, that's how my mornings usually go. Followed by my mom yelling my name telling me breakfast is ready, my favorite part.

(Sleeping clothes, minus the shoes. Unless you like to sleep with shoes on, I don't judge lol)

"You know, I don't think I should buy you shirts anymore. You don't even use them" my mom said laughing "Ha ha. Very funny, where's dad?" I asked "He had an emergency call, someone's water heater broke so he had to go see what was wrong with it" mom said and I just nodded my head getting my plate to make food "Lauren said she was coming so don't eat everything" she said making sure I heard her because she knows I could and would eat all of this. Oops.

I never really share this about me but my parents, Cierra and Jeff adopted me when I was 5 years old. My real parents couldn't take care of me and I was in the foster care system for a year until I found a home.

My real father killed himself in the house we were living in at the time because my mother wouldn't give him money to buy drugs. I remember my real mom always protecting me from him until one day I needed protection from her. She started doing drugs and then forgot she had a daughter.

Little 3 year old me was wondering the streets looking for her when she left me at a park. I remember seeing a cop car because of the flashing blue lights and immediately running towards the car because cops were always protecting me and my real mom from my real father when he went crazy.

So little me ran hoping she was with him but she wasn't and all I remember was him taking me to the station calling social services. And that's how I got into the system.

6 months later a couple named Cierra and Jeff flew from Miami to meet me and stayed in Hawai'i for 2 years, then they adopted me. They asked if I wanted to stay there or move to Miami and finally get to be with my cousins, grandma and grandpa and of course I picked Miami. 5 year old me was desperate for a family after being in multiple foster homes.

When we moved to Miami, our neighbors welcomed us to the community and invited us for dinner. They had a 6 year old girl named Karla who later cringed at that name and wanted to be named Camila. we became best friends after that day.
