~Lilly Tigers~

"Please be careful." My best friend, Alice, says for the fiftieth time. Yeesh, with the way she's saying it it would seem like I've never done this before. You may be wondering what it is I'm doing. Well, I'm going to a club. It may not seem that dangerous but I can make anything dangerous. Literally anything.

"I will Ali." I say trying to calm her down.

"Why are you going anyway? Can't you just deal with your problem like a normal girl would?! With chocolate, romantic movies and tissues to wipe away your never ending tears?!" She explodes. That hit a nerve. It was the reason Julian left me. Because I wasn't 'normal enough' for him. I should probably tell you who Julian is. He's my ex fiance.

We were at the altar and when he was supposed to say 'I do' he said, "I'm sorry, I can't do this. You're a wonderful person but, you're just not normal or pretty enough for me." And left me standing there with tears in my eyes. It was a huge embarrassment for my dad since he's the CEO of Tigers Co. Of course the press had a field day with that and it was on the front page of nearly every newspaper he next day. I still remember the lines from some of them. 'Left At The Altar? So Was Lilly!' 'Lilly Tigers Not Pretty And Not Normal?' 'Embarrassment Of Tigers Co.' The next day my father yelled at me like I was an employee and practically disowned me for causing so much shame on the company. He acted like it was my fault. Like I said to Julian, 'Hey, when we're at the altar tomorrow run away, but not before insulting me and putting shame on the company!' Yeah, our father daughter relationship hasn't been the same ever since.

"Well, if I'm so weird, different and not normal, why are you still friends with me?!" I say and walk off before she can answer. That wasn't the only time I've had bad luck with men. My boyfriend before Julian, Erik, was abusive and gave me some scars along with bruises, and the guy before him, Jon, cheated on my with my cousin, Regina. So, I've decided to not have a man in my life anymore. They only bring trouble and are either dumber than a box of rocks, so smart they correct about everything or they're so mean they abuse you.

I drive back to my apartment and decide to not go to the club after all. I change into my matching silk pajama shorts and tank top, along with my fluffy socks. I put my hair in a messy bun and go into the kitchen to make some popcorn. Movie night here I come.

When the popcorn is done I go into the living room and put in the Avengers. Just as I was about to press play the door bell rings. Seriously?! I groan and get up, saying a few choice words, and walk to the door. I open it not sure what to expect but I wasn't expecting what I was there, or rather who was there. At my door stood a really attractive guy in a nerdy kinda a way. He has soft looking brown hair that I want to run my hands through, blue green eyes, glasses that make him look super cute and almost everything about him screamed 'I'm a hot nerd!' He seems pretty tall, probably about 6'2' which made have to look up since I'm only 5'3'. One thing that kept going through my head is,

What is a hot guy doing at my door at ten o'clock at night?

~Spencer Blake~

I ring the door bell waiting for Kevin, my best friend, to open the door, but instead a beautiful girl opened the door. She was short, about 5'3', dirty blonde hair that reached her elbows, gray eyes, she was wearing silky pajamas so she probably wasn't expecting anyone. Is this Kevin's girlfriend? I really hope not. But if she isn't who is she? A friend? Roommate?

"Uh hi is Kevin here?" I ask awkwardly. Her eyebrows furrow and her nose scrunches up an a cute way.

"I don't know anyone named Kevin. I think you may have the wring apartment." She says. Her voice is a little deeper than I expected but not very deep.

"This is apartment number 521 right?" I ask. I hope Kevin didn't get his address messed up.

"Yeah it is, it might be the wrong floor though. What floor are you looking for?" She asks.

"Five." I say and show her the paper with the address on it. She looks at it closely and squints before nodding in understanding and smiling. Oh gosh what did he do?

"It seems whoever wrote this played a prank on you. If you look closely you can see that the six was erased and a five was put there instead." She explains. I should've known. Kevin loves to do stuff like that.

"Oh, thank you. Sorry for knocking on your door this late at night." I apologize. She just waves it off.

"It's fine. It could happen to anyone." She says with a smile.

"Well, goodnight." I say.

"Goodnight." She shuts the door and I walk down the hall back to the elevator. I don't know whether to thank Kevin or yell at him.
