hello tattooed heart readers! i have decided to revise this book. i wrote this book when i was thirteen and it has lots of grammatical errors but what would you expect from a thirteen year old? there are lots of negative comments but i could careless. as a author you have to get used to constructive criticism. anyways, i hope you enjoy the revised vision of tattooed heart.
If I didn't need this job, I wouldn't be responding to the annoying alarm clock that constantly we off. Slowly removing the covers from my body, I got out of bed making my way to the bathroom. It was my first day on the job as a secretary for the CEO of RCA Records and I was ecstatic of course. Being able to see and possibly meet the artist of the label was amazing to me.
My shower lasts about twenty minutes before I reach out to grab my towel from the towel rack. I got out of the shower and wrap the towel around my body before walking back into my bedroom. Since it is my first day on the job, I want to make a great impression on my other coworkers. I decide to go with olive green jumpsuit with matching heels. My phone vibrates on my dresser. I grab the phone to see the message was from my boss.
Ms. Parker could you please purchase a mocha latte w. almond milk and extra foam from Starbucks.
yes sir, i'll get right on it.
Quickly I grab everything I'll need for today before dashing out of the door with my keys and phone in hand. I hit the unlock button twice on my key fob, the lights to my 2010 silver Nissan Altima. I got inside and threw my belongings into the passenger seat. The upside to having this job was my boss provided a company card for all of my company expenses. None of the money spent on coffees or lunches would have to be charged to my personal account.
"You gon' be my baby, love me, love you crazy," I sang as I drove down the highway. It was around seven in the morning and Mr. Franklin would be in his officer around eight. He's the type of man that wants everything in place when he arrives and departs everyday.
I pull into the parking lot of Starbucks trying to find the closest spot. Once my car was parked, I got out with my wallet and phone in hand before walking inside. As expected the line was treacherous since everyone needs their morning cup of coffee to function. The line began to diminish slowly but surely and before I knew it, I was next in line.
"Welcome to Starbucks. How may I help you today?" The male barista asks with a smile.
"Mocha latte with almond milk and extra foam and a strawberry and creme frappuccino with coconut milk. Both are ventis." I order.
He nods, typing in the order on the keyboard. "What's your name?" He asks.
"Hazel."
"Eleven forty two."
I take the card from my wallet handing it to the barista. He did whatever he needed to do with the card before handing it back to me.
"Your order will be done shortly." He says. I nod, walking away from the counter and taking a seat in one of the chairs. Taking out of my phone, I check my social media accounts while waiting on my name to be called.
"Hazel." Someone calls. I got up from my seat and walk over to the counter. I pick up the two drinks before making my way outside to my car.
Walking inside of the building, I'm greeted by loud chatter. I made my way over to the elevator pressing the button. The elevator doors open, I walk inside and turn around to press the top floor button on the keypad. The door closes and I lean my body back on the wall. Many thoughts ran through my mind regarding my first day. I didn't need to mess up any chances with anyone around here.
The doors opened and I walk onto the floor. On this floor was my boss's office, a couple of conference rooms, and one studio. According to my boss, there was a studio on every floor. I walk back to his office, opening the door and placing the cup on his desk. I walk back out to my secretary desk and took a seat in my chair.
"Excuse me?" Someone inquires. I look up to see Chris Brown. I froze in my spot, was he talking to me?
"Yes?"
"I'm scheduled for time in the studio." He said. I nod, looking down at the calendar that sat on my desk to see he's in the studio for about five hours.
"You're all set Mr. Brown." I spoke with a smile.
He flashes a smile, "Thank you Ms..." He pauses, waiting for my name.
"Hazel, Hazel Parker." I answer.
"Beautiful name for a beautiful woman." He flirts.
I could feel my face heat up, "Thank you."
"I hope I'll be seeing you around." He said before walking away from my desk. I sit back in my chair taking in a deep breath. I couldn't believe the events that just took place. Chris Brown just flirted with me!
There was no denying that the new secretary was cute. I walk into the studio to be met by my team and personal assistant Madison. We were here today to finish up my fifth studio album Fortune.
"Let's get started youngblood, first I need the bridge and outro for 2012."
I nod, walking into the recording booth and place the Beats over my ears. The beat to the song starts playing and I wait a couple seconds before starting.
"Do it like we only got one, baby, let's pretend we only got one night
One last time, let me take my time and do it to you right
Buildings and bridges may be falling down, but that won't stop me from turning that thing around, girl, yeah
Won't you come on over and we can treat it like it's the motherfuckin' end of the world? Woo."My producer nods and places his thumb in the air. The chorus plays over again in the headphones.
"A nigga going hard in the paint, you think I can?
Watch a nigga go hard in the paint, you think I can?
Going for miles, no stops, a nigga going hard in the paint
Watch a nigga go hard in the paint
Watch a nigga go hard in the paint, you think I can?
Watch a nigga go hard in the paint, you think I can?
Watch a nigga go hard in the paint
Watch a nigga go hard in the paint."I take off the headphones and walk out of the recording booth. My producer begins playing back the bridge. I ain't even going to lie, it sounds dope.
"You sound great Chris." Madison praises.
