Kaneki's pov*
It was the date from hell. Rise the girl who I had gone on a date with just because I wanted to make Hide my best friend jealous of her. I loved hide he was my best friend and I wanted to be with him but then this happened.
" I-I'm afraid to walk myself home" Rise said. "I live in the part of town where a lot of ghouls live. W-will you walk me" I felt bad so I said yes. She led me into a death trap. " Um where are we going" I asked as we were at a construction sight. "There's been a change of plans" She said and turned around reveling her now red and black eyes witch were terrifying. "Now it's really dinner time" She said with a crooked smile and started to chase me. I stopped at a post and slid down it. All I could think was 'This is it I'm going to die I'll never see Hide again' when a post fell crushing Rise and injuring me. I past out and when I woke I was in the hospital. Hide had come and visited a couple times. The food there was awful but I figured it was just hospital food but after I was released I realized it was everything even the things I had once found enjoyable I found myself throwing up because it was too discussing. That's when I saw a T.V show. They were interviewing a ghoul specialist and found out I was now a half ghoul.
I started to distance myself from Hide I didn't want to hurt him if I lost self control. Antaku took me in, gave me a job, and taught me how to survive as a ghoul. Hide would always come in to visit me even though I tried to distance myself. I always felt jealous when he came in because he would hit on Touka and all I could think is I wish I were Touka.
