I was never an honest person. In all my years never once has a single word of truth come forth my mouth. Even though those years are only sixteen, a small number, that'e enough to know there's more to come.
Life isn't easy when your as young and stupid as I am. There's only
A handful of things I'm hood at, life isn't one. When my little brother dies this was the last straw. He was my best friend, my only friend, and he looked up to him, as though I were his mother.
Don't think that I'm just a lonely girl, it's not my fault that I don't socialize much. My family lives in a farm, or at least what's left of us, and we are homeschooled. We don't go to church or performances or plays or anything like that. Without Luke it's just daddy , Laila, and I on this little, isolated Virginia farm. Since it's just daddy as the only man he hires Kyle and Fredric sometimes to help out, but their pretty much the only people I know, other than a few others I don't care to mention.
I continue to look out my window at the fields and just imagine what it would be like with Luke, my whole world. I remember the day we brought him home. He was adopted so I was the closest thing he had. As I lay on the field about half an hour later I see beside me one of my favorite moments with him. We were sitting cross-legged on the grass. That was the day I was trying to teach him some songs.
"Do, a deer, a knee kill deer," he sang. I interrupted him, "No, it's a female deer." He looked up at me with those curious little eyes. "What's a female?"
I smiled in my fantasy and in real life. I had opened my mouth to say something but before I could finish the scene Kyle came and sat next to me.
"Hey," he said with a boyish smile. I moaned in reply. "Hey," he responded, "if you're really upset about it I might get you a present." I turned my head to the side to see his smiling face. "What'd you get," I asked. He sat up, with me following quickly behind, and pulled out a bag full of broadway musicals on DVD. I smiled and gave him the most sincere hug I have in a while.
