Chapter 8: Happy Children At Hogwarts

Chapter Eight: Happy Children At Hogwarts

Colette's Point Of View

"Come on, newbie! Time to get up!" I heard someone called as I turned over to be faced with a white girl with blonde hair and bright brown eyes. If that's possible,

"Uh?" I mumbled as I swung my legs over the side of the bed and opened my eyes a little wide. She was kneeling next to my bed and was looking up at me with a smiley face,

"Colette right?" She asked,

"You phrased it different. Best friend forever." I said with a smile and she smiled back. She put her hand out and I shook it,

"Katie Bell. I sleep over there." She pointed to the bed which was to the right of mine. Luckily, there wasn't anyone to my left. Well, it was the door. Damn, just hurt the doors feelings.

"I'm Colette. As you have already guess and stuff. Call me Lottie, save yourself some breath." I said with a shrug. I looked around the room and it was deserted besides me and Katie, "Erm, Did I sleep in?"

"No, don't worry. Everyone else is in the common room."

"Bit early ain't it?" I asked and Katie shrugged,

"A little I guess. You want something to eat? If you wanna get dressed and ready, I'll walk down with you."

"You sure?"

"Positive. I'll go tell the twins you're awake." I stopped in the middle of the room and looked at her as she headed for the door,

"The twins?" I asked curiously,

"Oh yeah. They want to know if you're ok. Don't worry, they acted like this when Ginny came. All worried about if she slept ok and if anyone picked on her. Enjoy it. They lose interest in a while."

"Good to know." I nodded as she left the room. I heard her laugh as I grabbed my robes and went into the bathroom. I quickly got dressed and brushed my hair and teeth. I tyed my hair into a ponytail and walked out of the bathroom, threw my pyjamas onto the bed and walked out of the dorm, down to the common room and was tackled into a hug by two tall redheads,

"Morning!" They both said gleefully. I laughed and shook my head,

"Step back. What's made you guys so happy?" I asked. They both shrugged and let me go,

"Breakfast?" Fred asked. George and I nodded and I noticed Katie stood in the background,

"Hey, you want to come with?" I asked her. Katie looked around a little before nodding and smiling, following us out of the common room and down to the Great hall. The walk to the hall was pretty quiet, Katie kept looking really uncomfortable walking with us and Fred didn't say a word the whole way. I'm beginning to think something fishy going off. So soon. 

We walked into the Great hall and not many people were around yet. Mind you, it was only quarter past eight. Guess most people in Hogwarts like to stay in. We sat down at the table and I was sipping coffee as Fred and George were having a conversation next to me, I looked over the table and tried to talk to Katie, "So, who else is in our dorm?" I asked her. She looked around trying to avoid the question but she gave up in the end and sighed,

"I really shouldn't be here." She said, getting up and hurrying out of the hall. I shrugged and carried on drinking my coffee,

"Where'd Katie go?" Fred asked once he'd noticed,

"I dunno. Asked her who shared our dorm and she walked off." I answered, finishing my coffee and pouring some more,

"Weird one she is. Nice girl, very cagey." Fred said. I sighed and shrugged,

"Making friends at Hogwarts. My arse." George chuckled at me then carried on talking to Fred. I stirred my coffee and picked up the Daily Prophet that was lying on the side. It had another picture of Sirius Black upon the front. I flicked through the paper quickly until Harry, Hermione and Ron arrived. We eat a bit of breakfast when Harry asked me for the Prophet. I gave it to him and he was reading about Sirius, "What you thinking?" I asked Harry, judging by the look he was in deep thought about something.

"Nothing. Just reading." He answered and threw the paper at Ron. We finished off at breakfast and were about to head off when McGonagall came around with our schedules. I barely saw mine when it was grabbed by the twins and they started comparing,

"Done?" I asked them impatiently as George handed me it back,

"Yep. All together, all the time."

"Yippee." I said sarcastically, shoving the parchment into my robe pocket and standing up, "Going to first lesson then?" I asked. Fred and George nodded and got up. We said goodbye to the trio and went walking off down the corridor when we ran into Katie and two other girls, "Hey Katie." I said as we passed them,

"Oh erm .. Hey Colette." She said, "This is Angelina and Alicia. We all share a dorm." She said with a little smile. Alicia went to shake my hand with a huge grin. I took her hand and smiled back. She took her hand back and looked up to Angelina. She gave her a look and Alicia looked down at the floor. I turned to Angelina and put my hand out, but Angelina just looked at it. I took my hand back slowly and smiled awkwardly but she didn't return it. I shrugged it off,

"So, you going to first lesson?" Alicia asked us,

"Yeah. You too?" I asked, just to be friendly,

"We are going to breakfast." Angelina said and turned around, walking towards the hall. Katie gave me a weak smile before following her and Alicia waved brightly and trotted off with Katie,

"Happy pineapple she is." I said, still shocked about how Angelina acted,

"Pineapple?" George asked. I looked to my side and saw him smirk at me,

"Least I didn't call her a nasty name." I said and smiled, skipping off in the direction of the dungeons.
