Chapter 41
Return of the Wolf - Part 3Different voices fill up the room. I try to move, but a pain in my back greets me and I groan out loud, enough to draw attention. The voices stop and their gazes are strongly set on me when I open my eyes a bit, making out their blurry figures. The first face I notice is Cloud's. He has a worried and sad expression plastered all over his face and just taking a look at it, you know that you wouldn't be able to pain that. Even when he's worried, he really looks cute and handsome. He's so handsome that he could just be the 8th deadly sin. I smile at the thought despite the pain in my back. He huffs in annoyance but I can see the relief in his voice. He slaps me softly on my forehead and I scowl at him, pouting.
"You little," he says in annoyance and relief at the same time, resting his head on my chest and I sigh in comfort as I feel his arms wrapping around me as his eyes pierced with mine. "Don't you ever do that again, you prick."
"What happened, though?" I ask him, not remembering anything after I tried to jump on the falling tree. My eyes widen in realization. What happened next? I tried reaching Furion but I never got the chance to know if I did reach him or not when the light blinded me and I fell asleep. Cloud lifts his head up and stands up. They are all standing awkwardly in front of me. "What happened, Cloud? Did I free Furion?"
At first, Cloud just looks at me with no emotions at his eyes. I look at the people surrounding me. Troy, Diana, Marcus, Josiah, Nolan, and Perry. They are all looking at me with blank eyes and no emotions etched on their faces, which makes me nervous as hell. My palms are getting clammy from the thought of me failing again. I failed to save Furion and he must hate me for it.
I knew you'd come back, a voice says behind my back and my eyes widen in realization. I have heard that voice before, so many times, before I let go of him. A tear slips, running across my cheek and I put a palm on my mouth, keeping myself from crying. Cloud gives me a wide smile and everyone's lips quirks into a huge smile and I laugh in relief, giving myself a hug as I shut my eyes, savoring my wolf's voice again. I knew you'd come back and save me. I miss you, Kieran. I miss my human. I miss you so, so, so, so much.
"Oh Furion," I say, breaking out in tears. I get to talk to my wolf again and this time, I will never ever let go of him. It has been a year ago when I broke the Forbidden Law, and I'm not going to make the dumbest decision and most selfish decision again. Even though Furion is here already, everything feels surreal. "You don't know how I miss you so much and how much I regretted to break the Forbidden Law. Oh God, I hate you to see me like this but it's just that I can't help but cry because of my selfishness."
Cloud walks up to me and takes a sit on the bed, the bed bouncing a bit as he rests his warm palm on my legs and I throw my arms around his neck, burying my nose in the crook of his neck and inhaling his scent. Cloud chuckles, rubbing my back and I'm surprised the pain is fading away. I rest my head on his shoulder for awhile, not really caring the people that are watching us. As long as my mate is here, I don't care what they think.
I never knew that you guys have been so close without me, Furion jokes, rolling his eyes. He just got back inside me and he can't hide his sassy attitude. Furion laughs at what I think and wiggles his brows at me, silently asking me whether Cloud and I have done the deed. Nope. I blush furiously and scowl at him. You haven't changed, Kieran. You're still naive and a virgin.
"If I am a virgin, so are you," I counter back at him, making my point clear. Well, if I am a virgin, then so is he. We just share the same body. Unless Furion decided to have lots of sex in the Spirit Realm, which I doubt. Furion huffs at my imagination and I laugh internally. He rolls his eyes at me. "Though I really miss you. I am sorry I was selfish. It will never happen again. Plus, have you met Isaiah? Cloud's wolf? He has been wanting to meet you ever since." Furion blushes, and I giggle.
