Chapter 14: Hung up

Mara's P.O.V

The line was cut off, did he just hung up on me? I thought as I remove the phone from my ear and looked at it. Should I call him back? guess not, maybe Liam's embarrassed. this is all my fault I should've not let Josh snatched my phone from me when Liam called, and he even put it in a loud speaker mode. I sighed as the thoughts run through my mind, I slipped the phone back to my pockets and snapped back to reality.

"What happened? Did he hung up?" Josh said as we continue to buy foods in the grocery.

"I dont know exactly if he hung up on me or what. But the line was cut off.." I said as I pick up chips from the rack.

"Liam is shy when it comes to girls that he likes.."Josh stopped in his tracks and gave me a smirked.

I looked at him for a second, "What if it was just a prank? What made you so sure he really likes me?" I said as I pick up more foods from the grocery more. I should add more foods because we all Niall's capacity in food.

Josh gave out a loud laugh, "Oh if you only knew Mara! He's acting so different lately, he's always happy and giddy, he talks about you all the time like "Mara's this Mara's that" the only time he talks about something other than you is when we're playing fifa, yet he always screams your name each time he won.. He is so weird, what have you done to him?" Josh said in between his laughs.

Should I believe all the things that Josh have told me? What if he's just fooling around. I dont know who to trust anymore.

"You're joking, right?" I said as we head to the counter and pay for the grocery.

"Do you think I'd put so much effort to tell all that and tell you it's only a joke. He really likes you. Why are you so numb? Besides, I'm pretty sure Liam is jealous because we're together right now.. Look he even confessed through phone, he couldn't wait for you to go back and tell you in person."Joshua said confidently.

Josh has a point. Maybe he Liam really likes me? Hmm, still I need him to prove me that.

Josh payed for my grocery even though I refuse it but he insist. We head out of the grocery store and went back to the hotel. We said our goodbyes, and went back to our own respective rooms.

When I got in, I saw all the girls in the couch and talking to one another. What are they talking  about? I thought as I put down the groceries and walk towards the couch.

"So what's the girl talk all about?" I asked and they all turned to me.

Lauren's P.O.V

"Oh there you are, where have you been? Went out on a date with Liam also?" I teased as she sits beside me.

I left her alone here a while ago. And when I got back she's not around, so I thought maybe Liam and her went out also.

"Hey I asked you girls first.. "Mara said in defense, I dont get her sometimes, she's always avoiding the question if Liam's the topic. I mean hello Liam is way too hot to avoid right? Hahaha.

"because Kathryn here just confessed to Niall, and Harry confessed to Julia too." I said as I giggled. Mara gasped as she looked at Kathryn, "Really did you confess to Niall, what's gotten to you?" she added. Kathryn just shrugged and sighed.

"and Lauren almost confessed to Louis too!" Julia added as she hits my arm. I gave her a glare but she just stick her tounge out on me like a 3 year old kid. 

"How stupid of you to slipped those words from your mouth!" Kathryn added and laughed. All of them we're laughing so hard as if there is no tomorrow.

"Well how stupid of you to tell the truth to Niall, you could've just lie to him. You know!? But you didn't because you want him to know you really like him." I bit back, I know I should've not tell that, I know that's below the belt. but something inside me let those words came out of my mouth.

There's an awkward silence.

"At least I told him what I really feel! I'm being honest unlike someone here who's faking her true feelings." Kathryn said emphasizing 'FAKING HER TRUE FEELINGS', I felt every words she told it's like a big slap on my face. 

I stood up from my seat, and almost ready to hit Kathryn, but luckily Mara's in between the two of us."Yeah right, I'm faking it because I know Louis' with Eleanor and I can't just say I like him! So Instead I just told him that I like him as a friend!"I gritted my teeth in anger. Kathryn's face is a bit terrified, maybe because she was shocked that she had pushed me through my limits.

"Liam confessed to me!" Mara said to broke off the tension, and it worked. There's no way I should stay mad, I dont need to stressed out on that it will only make me ugly right? So I sat back to my seat and Mara too. We pretended that nothing happened, I looked back to Kathryn and saw her mouthed "Sorry.." and I just half smiled back.

"Really he did? How did he do it?" Julia gushed, she is so excited on how Liam confessed to Mara.

Mara blushed trying to recall everything, as she starts to tell us."Well actually, I'm not with Liam a while ago. I'm with Josh we...."

"Oh my gosh, you're a two timer!" Julia side commented and we all giggled, but Mara gave him a 'do-you-want-me-to-continue-or-what' look. "Kidding, go on." Julia giggled.

"As I was saying, I'm with Josh because we bumped with each other on the grocery.."Mara said, "Wow you guys bumped with each other twice in a week already, I believe in destiny." I teased, and the rest of us laughed again.

"Shut up!" she playfully hits my arm but then she goes on with , "So Josh and I decided to go grocery together. Then the next thing happened is, Liam's calling my phone. And when I'm about to answer it Josh snatched my phone and answered the call instead."

"So that's it?"Kathryn said, "so where's the part that Liam confessed?" She asked.

Mara smiled and said, "Easy girl, so here it is.. The phone was in a loud speaker mode so I heard what their talking about, Liam was a little shocked when he heard Josh's voice instead of me, maybe he was shock too because he knew I'm with Josh. The next thing happened is that Josh handed my phone back to me because Liam told him he wants to talk to me. And when I asked him what does he need Liam started blabbing me that ' he needs me, that he needs me to be there with him right now, that he needs me in his life'." We all squealed and jumped up and down from the couch. I am so happy for my friend because after all the guy that he hates the most 

"Oh my God Liam is such a sweet guy!" Kathryn said as she nudge Mara.

"Wow Mara you really have a long hair right now! you have two guys! But if I were you I'd choose Liam.. though Josh is cute too!" Julia added, then Kathryn and her did a high five.

Mara rolled her eyes and we both giggled. Then she continue her story, ''then he was cut off by Josh in my background teasing him that he's confessing to me.  But I told him that I heard everything he said and the line was cut off." 

"So meaning he hung up on you?" I asked with furrow eyebrows, a little confused. "After he confessed he hung up on you?" I added.

"Ya, that's what I thought of too. But Josh told me Liam's shy when it comes to girl that he likes." Mara said as she crosses her arm around her chest.

"Maybe he's just embarrass." Kathryn said, "Or maybe it's just a prank!" Julia said teasing Mara, trying to piss her off. But Mara just throw a pillow on her.

"Uhhhh, I dont know yet if Liam's telling the truth.. I dont want to stress out on that.. Anyway, why don't you tell me what happened about Harry's confession to you!" Mara said changing the topic.

"Oh c'mon as if you don't know Harry! He's just joking you know." Julia answered immediately.

Then we just exchange stories that happened the day of all the confessions happened. What a night of squealing!
