Carmen POV
I follow this person to the darkest corner of the room. Either this person is a vampire or it's something confidential.
In the darkness, the person speaks again.
"It's Lux."
"What the heck do you want, traitor?" I holler.
"I want to just make things clear." He replies.
"Just... SHUT IT." I cut off.
"Well, I want to say that I still have feelings for your sister." He starts off.
"So? You broke off the alliance." I hiss.
"I want to win it with her." He ignores my comment.
"So you want me dead. Good luck about that." I snarl sarcastically.
"But, Car-" Lux starts.
I walk off, not listening to whatever he has planned to say. He was a traitor. And will always be.
I walk back to see that Clarissa is at the axe station. She's not very good at it though. However, River, Doe's brother, is fantastic. He swings the axe and in a blink of an eye, the dummy has been beheaded. This just reminds me of Clifford's death and sorrow overwhelms me. I close my eyes to attempt to forget the gruesome memory. After a while, I open them to see Effie attempting at the survival stations. For one that has lived in the Capitol for her whole life, she is excelling. She is making knots at the rope station and the trainer seems pleased.
I excuse myself for a moment to talk to Katniss. We both sit on a long bench, aware of each others' misery. Her, with almost her whole family going into the Games. Me, well, in the same boat. Including the fact that axes made me relive the memory of Clifford.
"At least we are on the same page, right?" Katniss asks.
"Yup." I say, popping the 'p'.
Katniss goes silent again. Perhaps the silence should overwhelm us. Perhaps it's the only one that can understand.
We sit there, silently, quietly, and let our thoughts run our minds.

Lux POV
I see Carmen's back figure as she walks away. I don't know what to do. All I wanted to do was explain that I wanted either Crystal or Aunt Effie to win with me. That's all.
I walk back to the mentor room to see Serena. Surprising, she takes my hand to the corner of the room. I don't question it. But instead follows her.
She stops and says,
"Can you keep a secret?"
"Yes." I answer confidently.
"It's about the Games." She replies.
"Sure. What?" I question.
"The Games will be rigged with the deceased family members. They are programmed to kill the tributes." She calmly replies.
"No. That means..." I reply as a flashback kicks in.

Flashback
"Hey!" I hear someone shout. I turn to see that it's my sister, Lacey. She's playing a ball game with the others in the porch. Lacey is 3 years younger than me.
Cold wind blasts through the window that I'm supposed to look to take care of the group. I peer through the window to see Lacey still peering at me, gleaming with the brightest smile and a set of pearly-white teeth. In her hands was a birthday present from Aunt Effie. She was our adoptive guardian after our parents had "moved" or been forced to the Districts as Peacekeepers to pay their huge debt. That birthday present was a diamond-studded ball, with Lacey's name clearly printed on it.
Lacey had loved it, and I mean loved it. She had brought it wherever she went. And she especially loved to play with it with her play group.
This time, Aunt Effie was busy with the Games. Thus, like every year, I was entrusted to look after then for a period of time before Aunt Effie came back.
She shows off the ball and shouts,
"Lux! Come and play!"
"No thanks, Lacey." I reply.
She grunts and continues on with the ball game. I look after them for a moment longer and whisper,
"They will be okay, right? Just a harmless ball game."
I peer out of the window to see them all safe and fine. Seeing that they are okay, I pick up a book to read.
Just then, I hear a cry and I hear the ball bounce. Once. Twice. Until I peer out of the window to see the commotion.
Blood stains what was once a birthday present. All I see is blood. A car. A altered Capitol Man shrieking hysterically.I rush down to see the horrifying truth. Lacey's neck is twisted in a distorted way. Her head bleeds huge amounts of blood and stains the tyres of the car. Even if her broken neck didn't kill her, her injured, or should I say, damaged head which pours with blood, did.
Dashing towards her, the Capitol Man dials hysterically into his phone. I go up to Lacey. Her head is caked with dried blood. Her mouth is open, as if she had her last words. But her eyes tell me a different story. She was happy.
"You... killed her, didn't you?" I holler to the Capitol man. He is stunned before he says,
"Yes, but it was an accident, I swear!"
"I... Call Aunt Effie." I mutter.
"Pardon?" He asks.
"CALL EFFIE TRINKET." I declare.
He hesitates before the number is punched in. He turns it on speaker.
"Yes, Lux?" She asks.
"Lacey's dead, Aunt Effie." I answer silently.
"Lacey, she's de-e-e-a-d...?" Aunt Effie hesitates.
"Yes."
Silence overwhelms us. Tears stream down my face after my strong walls break down. The man calls over the other kids and tells me,
"I'll send them home first. Take my phone. Keep it. Talk to your aunt about her."
The man leaves. And I just sit next to Lacey. With the sniffing of Aunt Effie.

"What's wrong, Lux?" Serena asks. But I don't answer. Lacey's broken neck and the gore is implanted in my mind.
"I'm facing my deceased sister in the Games." I splutter out.
"I'm sorry. But I need you to keep this secret." Serena replies.
"Why?" I ask.
"If anyone knows, we are dead." She calmly replies. And I never knew.
I walk away, with a secret on my lips.

Crystal POV
I see Lux walking towards me. I can't talk. I still can't.
"Hey babe." He starts off.
"Whatever." I mutter.
"Come on. I still.... Well, I mean..." He attempts to explain.
I ignore him as he continues on with his unreasonable reasons. But a sentence catches my ear,
"..... and well, dead relatives are going in."
"WHAT?!" I screech."I.. ermm..." He starts before I see them. Peacekeepers at the double grab Lux. Did he really tell me the truth?
The Peacekeepers drag Lux away. Just then, I see President Snow come into the room.
"Hello Miss Lart." He greets.
"Yes?" I ask.
"You may want to follow me." He leaves me with that statement.
I walk behind him as I walk past hallway after hallway until we come to a room. It's guarded heavily with Peacekeepers. They move aside as President Snow pushes the door open.
The first thing I see is Lux strapped onto a wall.....

In December, I'll promise to be more committed.
Anyways, don't forget to vote for The 100th Hunger Games to get it in the top ten!
