September 10th,1875
Today papa said that I should go play outside for a while,I didn't want to but I obeyed papa anyway...maybe if I'm a good girl papa will be happy again! I went and played in the garden and watched the small ants carry small crumbs to thier house. Mama had told me they carried the food so they could feed the other ants in thier small kingdom and to keep the queen happy. Mama said there was no king ant because the queen ant wasn't a good person. I always prey to god for the queen to get a king....but it seems it is not part of God's plan.
As I went to go play near the woods I heard mama's voice calling me. I turned around but she wasn't there....
