*Nevaeh's POV*
The car ride there was about an hour long.
But it was totally worth it.
The building was huge! It had a front lawn about the size of 2 football fields side by side.
The building was crafted of white marble and around the entire estate was a barbed wire fence.
"Wow, you guys really don't mess around do you?" My mouth dropped open as I looked and saw all of the teenagers battling with swords, bows, and even some hand to hand. There were even some in wolf form tearing their enemy to shreds.
"Nope" he popped the P for emphasis "On a scale from 1-100, how good are you?"
"I'd say a good 73"
"Wow, cocky are we?"he smirked "we'll see"
We drove through the front gate and over the grass.
We hopped out in front of the building and walked inside. Then headed over to the front desk where he introduced me.
"This is Nevaeh Johnson. We are here to test her limits"
The lady looked up from her books, "the training arena would be that way" she pointing over to the far wall where a door was cracked open a bit "good luck" she smiled.
He nudged me over to the door, then pushed me inside. I looked up to see a glowing panel in front of me that read:
"Rules:
1- last one standing wins
2- no outside weapons
3- you are allowed to change form (wolf style)
4- no killing, only use the dulled swords and stunning darts and arrows
5- no lights in the arena, night-vision onlyThis activity is meant to test all your skills in combat
Good Luck"
I walked through the next door to see guards confiscating and replacing weapons.
There were dull swords, stunning darts in less powerful versions of guns, and bows and arrows but the arrows had flat tips. The arrows were most likely made of the same stuff as the stunning darts.
A guard came and patted me down. He found my knife and took it.
"Hey what are you doing?!" I said in protest.
"Don't worry all your items go in this box." He placed it in a metal box and locked it, then handed me the key.
"Thanks" I said awkwardly.
"Proceed up there to receive your non lethal weapons" he pointed ahead.
I walked up and was handed one of each item and a quiver of arrows.
"Once we open these doors you will have exactly 20 seconds to find a good spot before the game will begin. The stunning weapons will stun you until the game is over. Get hit with one of those and your out until the games over. The paralysis will then fade and you can return for your stuff. Got it?" A young girl was instructing me.
"Yes" I answered.
"Good, now stand here and wait for these doors to open"
I shoved my way to the front of the crowd and heard the 10 second count off until the metal doors would rise up.
The second the doors lifted just enough I summer salted under and sprinted to the other end.
I glanced back just long enough to see very few people smart enough to duck under the doors and find a spot to ambush.
I smirked and kept running, I'm gonna rock this.
I saw stairs and climbed them immediately. Once I reached the top, I walked out onto the platform.
I saw someone coming my way so I grabbed the gun, aimed.
And fired.
It hit him right in the chest and he flew back.
It was pitch black but I could see clear as day.
I saw others climbing the towers as I did and hunting from above.
Soon enough I was out of ammo and had to resort to using my bow.
It only took me a few shots to get the hang of it.
I eventually decided to climb down and hunt on all fours. At first I was scared but, I have to get used to this somehow.
Once in wolf form it was like nothing I'd ever felt before, the wind in my fur, the sudden sharpened senses. This feeling was a little addictive. I was surprised to find that I had total control of myself, my mind, and my actions.
I bulldozed over everything that came near me.
I turned my head to see a dart flying towards me.
It hit my stomach, but for some reason it didn't faze me. I guess it works differently when you're in wolf form.
I saw someone attempt to climb my tower and I raced after them. I lunged up at them and mid jump I turned human and whacked them with my sword.
They fell and I climbed up to the top.
I shot a few more people until finally it was down to the four of us that had climbed the towers.
One turned wolf and pounced on another but she was quicker and stabbed the other with a stunning arrow.
The wolf crumpled and fell to the ground.
She then took out another arrow and aimed at me.
I could see that she couldn't see all that well in this darkness, apparently not all of us had perfect night vision, so I took that to my advantage.
She fired her arrow at my but missed barely.
I dropped to the ground and threw the gun to make it look like she'd hit me.
She bought it and turned to the last opponent.
Apparently during the time that we'd been fighting each other, he'd taken the time to carefully get down and was creeping around up her tower.
He took out his sword and hit her in the back of the head with the hilt.
He sheathed his sword thinking he'd won and looked around confused.
He turned away from me and faster than lightning I picked up my bow and drew back an arrow and launched it.
It him square in the nose since he had turned to face me.
"Ooh" I said in sympathy "that's gonna leave a mark"
"Congratulations" said a voice over the intercom "please make your way back to the front doors to collect your things"
I did as he told me.
"I won" I whispered smiling to myself as I walked back "I really did it"
I thought about everything I had done as I walked back to the gate.
I had hidden in a bush as three guys brawled against eachother. Once one of them won, he took the time to silently praise himself. Bad mistake. I took out an arrow and shot him before he even realized I there.
Letter during the fight I found a little girl quivering in a bush, I helped her defeat a whole bunch of enemies. But we both knew there could only be one winner.
She thanked me and gave me a hug and told me that because of me, she wasn't as scared anymore.
She hit herself with her own dart and crumpled to the ground.
I caught her and then laid her down gently.
Then I kept on fighting.
I finally reached the gate and walked back inside.
