Chapter 2

My brother. Normally when you see a sibling you don’t have a powerful desire to kill them, threaten to strangle maybe as sibling banter, but me? I just want to kill him. My twin brother Falcon who has light blonde hair the color that mine once was. Light blue eyes shining in the light coming through the many open shutters in the sealing. The opposite of everything I now am. My twin brother who has tried to kill me on more than one occasion, always failing, but not without doing I number on me. And I always feel the need to reciprocate.

If only I could choose my family like I do my friends. That would mean much less family members, and they would actually be people I like. But no I get the rest of the Olivera family, which I am happy to say I only se twice a year. Once for Christmas, where we make as we are civil humans acting all loving, caring which is all so vomit inducing. Gah. Then there is when the counsel’s meet annually every eighth month of every year.

Great that means I have to see Falcon’s face again, in three months, oh the agony. But I guess that won’t matter anymore since we’ll be working together. Agony indeed.

Falcon smiled at me again. Man couldn’t he be more creepy. He made his way over the invisible line splitting or races. “No hug for me sister, and I was so looking forward to seeing you again.”

“That makes one of us.” I mumbled.

“What was that you missed me to?” He pulled me forward, out of my seat, clutching me to his chest. “Oh, the love it, its overpowering I can just feel it.” I hit him hard in the stomach making him gasp for breath.

“Oh that must be my love of hating you, sorry I forgot how sensitive little

Falc-y can be I’ll rain it in big brother, we wouldn’t want you to start crying now do we.” I mocked him, looking through my eyelashes and flapping them.

“You little-.” Before he could continue both heads of council silenced him and I stuck my tongue out at him. I win.

“That means you to Fara that is enough.” Well now I feel like a child, I hate it. “We are here to discuss a very important matter. Not catch up on family feuds. Is that clear.” Not only do I feel like a scolded child but embarrassed that I’m being scolded by Josh-Len one of the Fairy counsel council leaders, witch also happen to be my mother.

With her blonde hair pulled up and done all sophisticated. Trying to bore her light green eyes into me and Falcon. Oh please as if that could scare me now. Wait is that a shudder I see going through Falcon, looks like they got his gender wrong at birth. What a girl.

“Now that we have everyone’s attention.” She continued. “It has come to our attention that a war is being planned against us all, in hopes of overthrowing both councils. The pixies have long since planned to take over but where unsuccessful and almost never pulled through with their plans. This declaration of war is far beyond anything that they have tried before. And further more now that they have joined forces with the wolves they are forcing our hands and forcing us together, because we all know that if we stand alone as Fairy and Faeries we will die. But together we will be celebrating in victory.”

I just know that this is going to blow up in our faces. Fairies an Faeries working together, it’s going to be a blood bath even before the war.

“So how do we know that you won’t double cross us, turn on us while we fight so that you can rule alone.”

“Fara that is not apt question right now.” Nice Chris I thought you were on my side, guess not.

“No I find it perfectly ‘apt’, as you put it. I myself know just how big a backstabber a fairy can be.” I was fuming now. Not addressing Chris anymore. A hundred years worth of bottled up anger is just waiting to be released. I know that my eyes would be glowing black, even the whites of my eyes. I can feel the extending of my wings out of the tattoo on my back and turning a vibrant red at the tips to show just how furious I really am. Electricity started crackling at my fingers, just waiting to ignite into a brilliant red flame.

Taking a deep breath, trying to calm myself.

“How do we know that you won’t turn on us, you are unpredictable and clearly out of control.” Commented Xander one of the Fairy councilmen.

“Well clearly you can see that we in fact are in control. Tell me Fairy Councilmen Xander how long does it take you to retract your wings and become calm and rational” I countered sounding as calm as I could wile seething inside. My wings did not even show themselves.” It doesn’t escape me that all the Fairies bow their heads as in shame. And I’m also met with silence from Xander. “Well seeing as I am met with silence, I take it you take back your comment. And that in fact you are the ones out of control.” Wow don’t I feel smug.

“We can guaranty that we will honor your race, and I speak for everyone that, we do not wish to overthrow you.” Josh-Len gave me a pointed look when I snorted, but didn’t comment. “We like how everything is now. We are at peace with each other and that is how we would like it to stay.” Well if you can call it peace.

“Very well, we will converse and then tell you of our decision.” And with Amelia’s words, whispers began under the Faeries, starting with Amelia and Jonathan reprimanding me. With lines such as, ‘that was uncalled for’ and ‘that could have turned into a blood bath’. Ah, how I feel their love. Amelia gave me a sly wink as a ‘well done you put them in their place.’ They know I did the right thing only reprimanding me to put  on a show for the Fairies.

We all came to a reluctant agreement, we turned to the Fairies.

The decision: we fight.

Let’s hope that it’s not just with each other.
