Chapter Three ~ To You, At Deaths Door Part One

(Third person POV)

Levi opened his door and slammed it shut.

The events of that day replaying over and over again in his head. Tears threatening to fall from his eyes. Levi rubbed his eyes, leaving them slightly pink. The day had left his head swimming in a sea of tears. Dark, sort of...

Levi sat down, his mind clouded with hysteria. The images of Petra, Oluo, Gunther and Eld hovering in his head. Every once in a while images of Furlan and Isabel would enter his mind. All the regret came hurtling back into his mind.

Knock knock

Somebody knocked at the door, Levi rubbed his eyes and reluctantly got up. He opened the door with a scowl on his face.

"..Hello Captain Levi sir, um...I was wondering if..." Eren was at the door and he had trailed off, staring at Levi.

"What is it, brat?" Levi responded. His eyebrow twitched impatiently.

"...Have you...been crying?" Eren replied hesitantly, his face was rather shocked. More shocked than when he had seen the colossal titan for the first time.

Levi frowned. "No. I just had something in my eye." Levi said casually, It was a typical answer.

Eren raised an eyebrow.

"...What did you have in your eye?" Eren asked. He was tense, he was scared of whatever reaction he would get.

"Fucking tears, what else?" Levi shut the door quickly before anything else was said. He pushed his back against the door and rubbed his eyes again. But Levi's salty tears had already made their way down his face.

Levi felt a pang of regret as he rubbed his tears away, the same regret that had gnawed away at his emotions that day...

*le flashback*

Levi rode out into the mist, waving to his friends. He suddenly stopped at a drop, bodies lay everywhere. The ground painted with rich, thick blood. Levi stared at the limbs that had been tossed around aimlessly until he looked at the footprints of the Titans.

'No! I passed them??' Levi thought.

They were headed towards Isabel and Furlan.

Levi turned hastily and pushed the horse on.

'They're okay. They're alright. They're good. They're not dead...' Levi thought over and over again as he broke through several lumps of mist.

He came into the clearing with a horrified look on his face.

*End of Le flashback*

Levi frowned at himself. He didn't want to remember that day, never again. But the day he had just had was bringing up these unspeakable memories of Isabel and Furlan.

His friends were gone.

His squad was gone.

All that was left was the new brats including Jaeger.

More tears ran down his face, his eyes clouded with them. Even though Erwin had told him to let his regret lie in the past, he couldn't contain It anymore. Not now at least...

'Didn't that Eren brat want something?' Levi thought. He groaned, getting off his ass and opening the doors to see Eren walking away.

"Oi, brat," Levi shouted. Eren spun around and walked right back.

"Yes, Captain Levi sir?" He asked.

"Keep quiet, or I'll have your head," Levi whispered. Eren nodded, a bead of sweat ran down his forehead onto his nose.

"What did you want me for?" Levi snapped. Eren furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, before realising what he wanted.

"Well, the windex ran out while I was on cleaning duty...um, where is It stored?" Eren questioned.

"Don't say you don't know where it is Jaeger. You know VERY, well where it is." Levi said before sniffing, his tears almost threatening to fall.

"Okay, Captain...and...I promise I won't say anything about..that..." Eren trailed off again.

"Don't let anyone bother me after you've finished cleaning make sure nobody bothers me unless It's Erwin or someone important," Levi replied. "Yes, you can go to bed when all the other brats go."

Levi shut the door instantly. Wasting no time to take off his gear and lay on his bed, ready to cry his eyes out If It came to It.

He knew Eren would leave when he wanted to, he probably didn't care too much. Levi wouldn't let anyone care that much. Levi didn't hear Eren walk away, though.

Must've stayed. Stupid brat... Levi's thoughts trailed off now and then, but at least he wasn't taking It out on Eren.

Levi's thoughts had interrupted his crying session, and with the single thought of crying, a single tear dropped from his eye. Landing on the floor with a soft thud.
