We had all gone back inside the restaurant and returned to our tables to finish our drinks and collect our things. The girls were looking at me in disbelief as my suggestion still kind of hang in the air. They both told me they had to go home, because they still had a 45 minute drive ahead of them and were tired. At the same time though they encouraged me to go with Justin. "Do you really think he is up for that? I mean I'm sure he has a million better things to to, like sleeping for example.", I smiled at them insecurely while putting on my beige leather jacket. "He probably thought it was just a silly joke." "No way. He looked like he was considering it and up for it. If I were you I would totally try and find out.", Felicia encouraged me. We went toward the exit to check out. Justin and his group were still collecting their things at their table. After paying and exiting the restaurant we stood in front of the door while putting our purses back in the handbags and rummaging for cigarettes and lighters. "They're paying right now.", Felicia informed me as I had my back toward the exit. I lit my cigarette. Gosh, I smoked way too much tonight. Probably all the alcohol. No, more like Justin making me nervous. I made a mental note to myself not to smoke for the next couple of days.
Once again I felt an arm wrap around my shoulders and could barely contain my happiness. A smile must have escaped my lips because the girls smiled right back at me. I looked up to my right to see Justin's face only to find that he was already looking at me expectantly. "So about that tour... Are you up for it?", he asked and then looked over at the girls. "We gotta get going. We still have to drive for 45 minutes, but you guys should go!", Felicia beamed. Girl, calm down! She was probably gonna decorate our wedding invitations next. I mean, I love how she always was my best cheerleader, but turn it down a notch. I hope Justin didn't notice. I looked at Justin again, he was eyeing me almost like he was trying to read my face. So it's now or never, I guess and before I could think any further I said "Sure, let's go." He seemed satisfied and let go of me to go talk to the group of guys he came with again, probably to tell them we were leaving.
I hugged the girls goodbye. "You go girl! He likes you. Go get him!", Felicia whispered only for me and the girls to hear holding me firmly. I looked at her in disbelief. "Absolutely. Otherwise he wouldn't have come up to us again to ask for that tour.", Isabelle added. Wow, okay. How could he like me though? He knew nothing about me. We had only just met. I shrugged it off and hugged them one last time before they left. While I looked after them Justin joined me and simply said "Let's go." I nodded and we started walking.
"Alright. First stop is over there.", I informed him pointing toward the Triangle.
(Side note: the restaurant is actually in the building on the left, and that is the tower. I thought I add some pictures so it would be easier for you to follow. Just remember that it is dark outside because it is the middle of the night. I couldn't find a night time photo of that view, though.)
We walked over there and I noticed people following us which made me a little uncomfortable, so I turned around out of habit. I couldn't see much but saw a bunch of guys follow at a reasonable distance. Justin seemed to notice my discomfort. "Never mind them. I just need them to tag along for security." Right, Marie you're forgetting who you're talking to. I felt a little disappointed it wasn't just me and him though.
I nodded at him in understanding. "So, are you from here?", he asked me. "Yes. I was born in this city and have lived here for about twenty years." Justin smiled at me. "So you know the place and we're not gonna get lost.", he stated relieved. Watch it boy, this is my hometown. I grew up here, I will always know the place. "No, we're not. You're save with me. I don't think I could get lost here.", I chuckled. "Well, I'm relieved.", he fake-gasped. "Really? You were scared?" I furrowed my eyebrows and looked at him in disbelief. "I'm the girl walking around with a stranger at night. I should be scared here. I could get kidnapped or whatever.", I said with a duh-tone. He smirked. Not that anyone would ever dare to kidnap me. I'm pretty convinced they would return me within five minutes, but he didn't need to know that.
"Why did you agree to it then?", he teased. "I figured your image couldn't afford a murder or kidnapping investigation, so I took my chances." I laughed at him. For some reason I didn't care now that he knew that I knew who he was. I mean after all the fangirling Felicia had done earlier, it must be obvious I know.
When we arrived upstairs on the observation deck we were met with the most breathtaking view. This never gets old. Every time I see this my heart skips a beat. I love this place. Whenever I see that view I get this warm feeling in my heart that makes me smile. I guess that's what it feels like to be home somewhere. Justin was taking photos and running around the deck just like the rest of the guys, who had caught up with us to get up here. We were the only ones on that deck apart from a couple who seemed to be in their fifties and didn't mind us. They probably had no idea who Justin was. I just stood there and admired the view.
"Wow, this is amazing. The place is really pretty. Thank you for taking me up here." Justin joined me and put his arm around my shoulders again. This time I side-hugged him back and simply just smiled at his words. We stood there like that in comfortable silence for a while just enjoying the view. "That is the cathedral over there. We call it Dom.", I said pointing across the river. This bridge is called Hohenzollernbrücke. It is only for trains. Over there next to the cathedral is the central station." He merely nodded and followed my finger to see what I was pointing at. "The blue tent over there, thats the Musical Dome. I've never been there though", I said shrugging a little. "The tower that lights up over there that's the Mediapark tower. All the radio stations are located around there. Or at least they were. EMI used to have offices at Mediapark as well.", I continued. "I think I've been there once or twice.", Justin said remembering something. I nodded. I knew he had. I had seen video footage of him there in 2015.
"Can we go to the Cathedral? I wanna see it up close." Justin said out of the blue after another round of us just standing there side-hugging each other and sharing a comfortable silence. "Sure. We can just walk across the bridge." He let go of me and walked over to the guys informing them about our plan while I took a quick picture of the beautiful view of my city. I couldn't resist. Maybe I would post that on my Instagram later on.
