Chapter 17: The Lost

"FIG!" I screamed, holding my mouth with my right hand as I coughed up blood. I slowly got up and drudgingly walked towards Fig, blood streaming down my body. As I reached him, I picked him up in my arms, holding him as I was checking his wounds. His forehead had a crack, blood streaming down. "Fig... No... I..." I struggled to say, holding tears back. Suddenly, he spoke.

"Blue... It's ok..." Fig started to say, chocking. "At least I tried to help... I-I'm ok with the way... This ends... Blue... Th-thank you for everything..." He finished his sentence with a smile, then... Nothing... His breathing had stopped and he just laid there in my arms, his body becoming colder. I put my fingers on his head, and closed his eyes. As I put him down, I saw him slowly turn into nothing but dust. Slowly, Aurus walked up to me, giving a cocky smile. "Player 2: game over. Sadly, you have no more coins to continue." He said, chuckling. "You... You BASTARD!" I screamed at him, sending one of my swords at him. He jumped backwards to avoid it. Slowly, tears started forming and going down my face. Aurus walked back, putting his hand up to my head. "Hey now, don't worry, you'll be joining him soon." He said, a form of energy forming in his palm. Don't worry Fig... I thought as the energy became stronger. I'm on my way...

Suddenly, a knife was thrown at Aurus's hand. As a quick reaction, Aurus jumped back, looking at who it was that threw the knife. Before I got to see who it was, I passed out, tears and blood all over my body. "Hey, come on. You can't die already Blue." I heard a voice say, sounding strangely feminine. Slowly, I opened my eyes to see who it was. I crawled back at who it was in surprise.

It was Chara. She somehow came back to life. "Ch-Chara? H-how are you alive? A-and why are you helping me...?" I asked, struggling in pain to speak. "I'll explain later, right now we don't have much time. Just eat this." She said, giving me a steak that looked like a face. Reluctantly, I ate it, feeling all of my wounds heal. "Wait... Where's the other one?" Chara asked. I pointed towards what was left of Fig. "Oh... I'm sorry..." She said, looking at me. "Stay here, I'll hold him off. Take this and put Fig in it." She said as she handed me a bottle. "We can still fix him. Just make sure you don't lose it." "H-how?" I asked, confused. "Just trust me. Now do it, I'll hold him off." She said, charging at Aurus. As she fought Aurus, I slowly got up, going towards Fig's remains. I put them into the bottle, and just looked at the bottle as I put it down. Tears started to stream down my face, and I picked the bottle back up, holding it in my arms. "Don't worry Fig... We'll bring you back." I said to his remains.
