Being at the office all afternoon is very boring. It is the part of the day where I do nothing but stay at my office and do paper works and just that. Boring. I am one of the richest businessmen in the city, if not the country. Every boring afternoon, I always reminisce the memory of my past, especially how I got this far on my business.

When I was just starting this business, Banking, I met a new friend in some Italian Restaurant. He then discovered that I was starting a Banking business. And what made my jaw drop was the fact that he is the CEO of the most famous bank in the country. He was very kind that he started guiding me how to do this business, and how to get high profits without affecting the customers. He knew all of the strategies to banking. I was surprised at first why he was helping me. I then concluded that the look in my eye convinced him that I had a future ahead of me.

My business started growing since that day. Still with the help of my new best-business-friend, I slowly became good at it and also became independent.

Since the banking business was getting big, I had less time with my family; I had no time to find a life partner. And since I have no spouse yet, I just made my father’s house bigger for all us. My mother died when I was 13, she died of Leukemia and because of her death, and my father slowly lost his mind. So I hired a nurse to take care of my father while I am out doing business.

One day, the nurse was in the kitchen preparing my father’s medicine that he is supposed to take. When the nurse came back, my father was gone. Our neighbors said that they saw him wandering in the streets and they thought he knew what he was doing but they didn’t know my father was sick. Since that day I never saw him again, I sent out fliers and went to radio stations, TV stations to let people know that if they saw this man, contact me immediately.

The memory of my lost father always leaves me crying and awake all night. He was helpless, he was alone. I could imagine what he is feeling during these cold nights, and I wish I was there to comfort him and make him warm.

A loud knock on the door of my office popped the balloon of my reminiscing. My secretary told me that it was time to go home. I grabbed my suit, at the same time looking at the streets. One jaw-dropping view that caught my eye is a man that completely matches my father’s clothes the day he got lost. My eyes widened and started running for the elevator, unfortunately, there were no available elevators, so I immediately took the stairs. When I reached the place where he was sitting, he was there, singing the favorite song he used to sing to me when I was little. I approached him with a teary eye, and when his eyes locked onto me, he said, “Son?”
