Chapter 18: A Surprising Cooperation

"You think you'll stand a chance? You'll just die like that skeleton over there." Aurus said to Chara. "It doesn't matter if I win or lose, as long as your standing I can't allow it. You tried to take over my life after you brought me back, but no one can control me." Chara said as she picked up her knife and pointed it at Aurus. "Well, I guess I'll kill you too then." Aurus said, pulling out his weapon. They stared at each other for a second, before they charged. Chara swung her knife at him downwards at his head, but he blocked it by swinging his sword upwards and spinning it. Chara jumped back and charged at him again, going for a stab at his chest. Aurus put his sword up to block it, but Chara slid under him and sliced at his ankle. Aurus stumbled forward, surprised by the attack. Chara then jumped up and swung her knife diagonally across Aurus's back, leaving a huge gash across his back. Aurus turned around to Chara, glaring at her in anger. Chara covered her mouth to giggle at this, then glared back at Aurus. "Not going to lie, you're better than I thought. But you're still no match for me." Aurus said. They then charge at each other again, getting more and more excited.

I still stare at the bottle, not crying anymore, but still upset about what happened. I look over to see how they're doing, and I see Chara's doing well, but I can tell Aurus is holding back. I look back at the bottle, sit down and wait.

Chara swings her knife at Aurus's arm, but Aurus spins his blade and blocks the attack. He then kicks Chara away, fly's toward her, then slices at her with his blade by spinning it. Chara, getting hit by the attack, stumbles back and falls to her knees, bleeding out of her stomach. She puts her left hand on her stomach to slow down the bleeding, and Aurus walks up to her. "What did I say? No chance." He said as he puts the left blade on his weapon up to Chara's neck. Chara smiles at this. Aurus noticed this and states at her in confusion. "What's with the smile?" He asks Chara. She starts to laugh. "Because, I don't care if I die. I've lived long enough. Nobody here likes me. They're all scared of me." She pauses and smiles. "And that's why I'm happy. No one will care when I'm gone. They'll just most likely be happy." She finishes. Aurus just rolls his eyes.

I sit back up, and I noticed that Aurus and Chara are still fighting. I smile as I notice Chara is winning. Maybe there's still hope... I think to myself. All my hope vanished when I saw Chara fall to her knees. I then saw him walk up to her and put his blade up to her neck. "Dammit..." I say under my breath. My body gets hotter as I stare at the scene in front of me. I stand up and scream at the top of my lungs, and suddenly, all I see is white surrounding me.
