~Jazmine~
I pace back and forth in the living room while Billy and Jake try to coax me into sitting down before something bad happens. I run a hand through my hair and huff a sigh. I bite down on my lip and wrap my arms around my middle.
"Jaz, you need to sit down." Jake repeats for probably the millionth time. I slightly whimper and turn back around.
"Jazmine." Billy says in a stern voice. I stop and turn back to Jake.
"How long do we have?" I ask, worry seeping through my voice.
"I'm not sure. He's lost in the element of surprise." Jake replies. "Now please, come sit down before something bad happens." I plop down next to him on the couch and sigh. He wraps an arm around me and pulls me against his side.
"I hate being what I am." I mutter. He presses his lips to my head.
"I know, I know." He states gently rubbing my arm. The door bursts open, Seth limping through trying to catch his breath.
"Hey... Jazmine..." He says between breaths.
"You okay?" I ask furrowing my brows.
"I'm fine- the girl with the purple hair- not so much." He replies. I hear a familiar whistle.
"Fuck." I murmur getting up. Jake grabs my hand and gives my a confused look. I shake my head. "I have to take care of something."
I run out into the woods, unarmed. I skid to a vault when I find Lydia, Devonté, and Yvina, the girl with purple hair. I glance at the bite wound in her shoulder and sigh.
"Don't worry, we won't have to do the suicide thing, I'll be gone before tonight." She speaks through a rasped breath. "My body is rejecting it."
"Yeah." I nod. "Any last requests?"
"Save that baby- and do not trust Katherina." She replies as Lydia pushes her sweat soaked hair back.
"Anything else?"
"End those sons of bitches."
"Goodbye Yvina, may the odds be ever in your favor. Devonté, Lyds, take her home, make sure she's comfortable." I sigh.
I salute the dying huntress and walk back to Jake's. I open the door and grab my bow and quiver.
"Seth did you get a scent?" I ask.
"When you catch it, you'll know it." He replies. I nod.
"If I'm not back by dawn, send after me." I state turning around and closing the door. I jog off into the woods and try to trace the scent. I draw back an arrow and release it, piercing an invisible chimera's heart. "Where's the alpha?" I ask.
"I'll never tell you." He spits, black blood dribbling down the side of his mouth. I push the arrow deeper and change the color of my eyes.
"Where is your alpha?" I sneer.
"If I die, you will never know." He states. I slowly pull the arrow out.
"Oh, trust me, I will." I smirk letting his body crumble to the ground, his blood coating my hands. "Au revoir."

I scrub my hands raw trying to remove the blood when my phone chimes. I dry my hands off and check the message.
T.O.D. 21:03
I sigh and lock my phone back before placing an arm on the cabinet and leaning against it. I take a deep breath and close my eyes. That's five now Jazmine. Eight if you count Gerard, Christopher, and Ryder. You won't last much longer like this. I stand up straight and turn my phone off completely. I'm going to do what my code states.
"How long do I give you now?" Jake asks appearing in the room.
"Jacob." I sigh and shake my head. "I-I have to go explain to the others what happened today. Why Yvina didn't return from earlier." I take a deep breath and step toward him. "It shouldn't take long, if it makes you feel any better you can come, but you'll probably be at the Cullen's again."
"I have to make sure Sam doesn't try anything, or I'd go with with you." He cups the side of my face in his hand.
"Meet me at the ravine?" I lean into his hand slightly. He nods. We kiss gingerly and allow it last. We slowly pull apart and I go to walk away. Before our hands separate, he speaks.
"Hey Jaz?"
"Yeah?"
"J'taime." I smile and move back toward him. We kiss again, this time not as long.
"I love you too Jakey." I whisper before walking away.
I jog off into the woods and force back my emotions. I need to be the fearless leader that they saw in me just short of two years ago. If I don't, this speech with fall apart and they won't have hope. To win a war, you do not take the life of the man, you take his hope. I have to do this to keep them alive. I slowly open the door and walk into the main room. Everyone joins me in the room and watches me contently.
"I know that you are all well aware of why I've gathered you here." I start before taking a deep breath. "Our numbers have dropped drastically and our allies keep getting fewer. I know you are all also aware of one law the new code can't change or allow us to make circles around. Try your best to distance yourselves from the chimeras. If you get bit- it is your duty to follow through with the rest. Some of you won't even have to go that far- the bite could kill you, and if it doesn't, you will have until the next full moon to-to-" I sigh, I can't say it.
"To not lose your honor- to stay true to the code. If you allow yourself to turn, you are not protecting those who can't protect themselves. And you will die either way." Devonté finishes what I couldn't.
"As of now, for what few of you are left, don't go out alone, and never let them close enough to attack."
