I sat in the living room on my own eating a bowl of cereal for breakfast, when Michael passed through. "Hey, Michael right?" I asked, obviously knowing his name I just wanted to make conversation. "Yeah. You're Megan?" He nodded. "Yeah, sometimes my Aunt called me Megs but I hate it." I said, making him chuckle. "So, you're going to collage in September? Me too." We both talked about high school and collage and it turned out that we were both going to the same collage.

"Do you want to hang out today? I have nothing better to do?" I asked. "Sure, I'll have breakfast first." He smiled. "And I'll go and get ready." I smiled back before going to change out of my Little Mermaid pyjamas. I pulled on some dark blue jeans and a black, wooly jumper. It might be summer but it was still kind of cold. I brushed my hair and added basic makeup to my face before waiting downstairs for Michael.

"What are you doing up and dressed?" Dad laughed, joining me on the sofa. "I'm going to hang out with Michael today, we're going to the same collage so it would make sense." I told him. "Oh, well have a good day." He smiled, entering the kitchen for some coffee. Michael came down the stairs and we headed out.

"I don't know what we can do, there's a shopping mall about fifteen minutes away and a park around the corner." Michael explained. "Let's go to the mall, we can get some lunch later on." I smiled and he nodded in agreement. We walked to the mall, taking about small things that weren't that interesting.

"So you're parents are letting you live with a boy? My parents would never move me in with a girl." Michael said, sipping his coke he ordered from McDonald's. "Yeah, our parents are pretty close and so were Calum and I until we got to high school. But we're best friends now."

"And you're sure that you're just friends?" He asked, exaggerating the 'just friends' part. "Yeah! Joe said the same thing. We don't like each other like that." I laughed, eating my chicken nuggets.

After lunch, Michael took me to the park and we sat on the swings since it was almost completely empty. "So this Calum you're living with, is he going to be attending this collage?" He asked. "Yeah, that's one of the reasons we moved in together."

"Well, I live with my mom, I visit my dad sometimes but I tend to come up in the holidays for a few days because it's almost a three hour drive." He explained. "I just hope my parents don't break up, I don't know how I'd deal with it." I shook my head sadly. "From what I've seen, their pretty much in love." He laughed, telling me all the times he's seen them kissing. "And their very embarrassing." I laughed too.

"Oh shit," Michael muttered looking at his phone. "We better go, we'll be late for dinner."

We walked back to Aunt Claire's and we were in fact a little bit late. "Here they are! We've been waiting for you to come home." Mom said as we sat down at the table. "Sorry, we were at the mall." Michael apologised.
