"What's your name, kid," he said, pouring the vodka into a shot glass.
"I'm Lauren," I say as I take the shot and from the bartender.
"Well, hello Lauren, I'm Kev," he says leaning over the bar. I down the shot and pick up my back pack.
"How old are you anyways, Lauren?" Kev asked me as I was about to walk out of the bar.
"17," I say and as I walk out a boy about my age walks in. I continue my walk to my best friend's house.
Once I get there I open the door and walk upstairs toward her room.
"Karen, I'm here," I say, laying on her bed.
"ok well someone from school is coming over to tutor me," she turns around from her computer chair with a huge smile on her face.
"what?" I ask suspiciously.
"It's Lip Gallagher," she bites her lips.
"Who the fuck is Lip Gallagher?" I laugh.
"You don't know him? He's this hot kid in our grade." she says to me.
"Karen! A boy is here to tutor you." Shelia yelled from down stairs.
She grabs her books and starts down the stairs.
I make my way to the kitchen while she answers the door.
"Lauren! I told you 100 times to take your shoes off before you enter the house." Shelia yelled. She was like a second mom to me. She cares about me but sometimes a little too much.
"Shelia, I told you a 100 times I don't like taken my shoes off." I laugh and grab lemonade out of the fridge.

I walk back out to the dinning table. The boy a recognized from The Alibi Room is sitting at the table weirdly gripping the table.
"Where's Karen?" I question him. He looks kinda lost for words.
"Hello?" I say waving my hand in his face.
"Um, I'm not sure." He says.
"Okay?" I sit down and I hit something under the table. I start to pull up the table cloth before Lip interrupted me.
"Don't," he said placing his hand on mine. I yank my hand away from his and pull up the tablecloth and there's Karen on her knees. I start breaking out laughing.
"Karen what are you doing?" I laugh.
She looks at me and smiles' "What? Science turns me on," She says and I put the table cloth down. I stand up and pat Lip's shoulders.
"Bye Shelia, when you see Karen tell her I'll see her at school Monday."
