Chapter 15 : Hidden

CHAPTER 15

Suddenly Lucia came running back to us with Alice, Cinna, Aaliyah and Kira as she waved her hand in the air. They slowed as they got to us.

"What's this about, who the heck did this?" Lucia complained. I shook my head, not knowing the answer to her question. 

"Lets just run for now," Cinna said quietly.

"HELL NO!!!" Lucia shouted in his ears. "We can't just abandon the villages."

"Lucia's right but what can we do?" Alice said in agreement. The fire began drawing near, the smoke was to make me choke as I coughed trying to not breath in the smoke. Soon I knew I would be able to feel the heat. Just as we started to panic, a wave of water extinguished the fire. I spun around to see where the power came from as the smoke started to clear away slowly. 

My mouth dropped open as I saw the people who had saved us. I wanted to run but I didn't, instead I stayed and spoke.

"Why?" She knew what I meant, she was never the type to save people, even if it was her own younger brother who she could have easily healed back in the orphan. I couldn't help it but my voice shook a little with fear. 

"We don't want others to steal the money do we? And plus you killer should be locked away long ago," the teenage girl threw her head back, sneered and laughed.

"Money?" 

"Everyone's aiming for to capture or kill you for the money, there is a big bounty on top of your head." I frowned. I dragged my sword out of it's sheath slowly and swallowed hard.

"Don't worry Winter! We won't betray our friend!" Lucia cried as she took a fighting stance. I smiled back at them. I flipped up, swinging my sword across in front of me, the girl jumped backwards with a wicked grin that slid across her face. I began to fall downwards as I couldn't stay in the air for that long. I flung my sword back into its sheath that was tied to my back.  skidded across the ground, scratching my hand along the rough surface of the stone floor. 

I looked up to see everyone else charging at the girl. River seemed somehow out of focus, occasionally he would stare hollowly at a dead tree that was bent over and seemed slightly burnt and I couldn't help notice the tears that were swelling inside his eyes. Suddenly in the corner of my eyes a red glint flew past me from behind. Everything was a mess.

Another group of people had gathered around, realizing who I was, the aim was all at me.  I had to get everyone else out of here.  I shut my eyes then quickly opened them again, now glowing with gold, suddenly we were all teleported back to our base. I sighed as I landed on the wooden floor. Alice looked around, shocked.

We gathered around the small table as everyone sat down and looked up at me as I stood and took a deep breath. I had made my decision, no one could stop me now. I had caused to much trouble.

"Everyone, I'm sorry I have caused so much trouble. I plan on... leaving." It was hard getting that full sentence out. I started to head out as I glanced one final time at my friends. 

"Wait..." Alice's cry out echoed in the back of my mind as I walked out.   I clenched my fists as I bit the side of my lip. 

But not long after leaving, a dark presence felt as if it was getting closer to me. Someone was following me.

Sorry this chapter is bit shorter than usual. 

And by the way everyone... I will be changing the main character's personality a bit. Hope you will get use to the change in the future chapters.
