Alexis POV
"Ahhhh" I screamed, I was in shock. My thoughts got jumbled in my head.
Did he just do that?
  Why would he do that?
   Is he insane?
Those were the only thoughts that came out clearly.
He slapped me, he actually raised his fat sausage fingers at me.Holding my cheek I jumped up causing a few heads to turn in my direction but I didn't care, I took a quick glance in his direction then ran out of the diner.
"Alexis. Alexis wait!" He screamed after me.
But I kept on running until his voice seemed like a distant memory. When I was sure that he was no longer behind me, I stopped to catch my breath. A stray tear slipped from my eye, and I immediately wiped it away, along with the horrid memories that began to come back.

I took a deep breath and composed myself, pulling out my phone from my back pocket I took the time to look around, and noticed the streets were deserted. What kind of dried up town did that hunky piece of shit take me too!! And to make matters worse, I had no signal. I was filled with rage but sadly had nothing to take it out on, after kicking some stones I realized I had achieved nothing, the anger was still there. I started pulling at my hair and walking in circles, to a by- passer I would have looked like a maniac but I guess there are some advantages to this town anyway.

After 5 minutes of pulling I heard someone say
"If you keep pulling at your hair, you'll be bald before you get the chance to fall in love with me."

My head snapped to the direction of the voice and I was awestruck at the sight. A drop dead gorgeous stranger stood before me, I took my time to study his features, I was captivated by his green eyes.I didn't even notice when he walked up to me until I felt his hand underneath my chin, I immediately closed my mouth not even realizing it was open and took a step back.

" I don't bite you know." he said with a playful smirk.

With a scoff I turned to walk away but was stopped by hand holding me back. Pulling my hand out of his grip, I gave him a menacing glare. He put his hand up in mock surrender and stepped away from me.

"Hey, I'm just trying to help." He said.

"What makes you think I need your help." I said, with my glare still intact on my face.

"You're a new face, we don't get new people around here. And the fact that you look lost just happens to be a plus."He said with the smirk never leaving his face. "I'm Nate by the way".

"Alexis!" a familiar voice called. I honestly wish I could disappear, it would save me a lot of humiliation. Turning to face him, I took in his appearance. His  hair looked like he had run his hands through it one too many times, and his face  was mildly covered in sweat. If not for our last encounter I would have thought he actually cared, but now I don't even know what to think.

He walked up to me, but I realized he wasn't looking at me but at something behind me. Confused I looked back to see the handsome stranger I was arguing with just seconds ago, he was too close for comfort. But before I could move I felt Jason drag me forward and say        " Let's go". I cringed away from Jason's touch and immediately pulled my hand away, my body crashed into Nate.

Nate held unto me and stopped me from falling, and we were staring into each other's eyes. To a stranger we would have looked like a lovestruck couple but I knew he was just doing this to get a rise out of me, pushing him away I turned to see Jason with a stoic expression on his face. An emotion flashed through his eyes so quick I could barely decipher it, it looked like hurt but then again I could be mistaken.

Giving the two boys who were giving death glares to each other a quick glance, I walked away. It took them 30 seconds to realize I was gone, and before I knew it I was being pulled in two different directions. This would have been hilarious if I wasn't the person being pulled like  a rag doll.

"Enough!"I shouted, loud enough to grab their attention but not to attract too much attraction. Which wouldn't have been the case anyway, seeing this place was as dry as a desert, they let my hands drop simultaneously.

"Stop acting like little kids." I said. As they both dropped their heads, looking to the floor and muttering "he started it"

Rolling my eyes, I sighed and said" Let's go Jason." This made both of them to stare at me in shock.

"Any day now" I exclaimed causing them to jump. Right now I really don't care about what Jason did, I just want to go home.

I sat in the car and put on my seatbelt, hearing Jason do the same. But he didn't start the car immediately, I turned to look at him and found him staring at him intently. I could have stayed there looking into his eyes a little longer, but he's gaze was too intense. He cleared his throat to fill up the awkward silence.

"I was really worried." he said. I was caught off- guard because I didn't expect him to care.

"I want to explain Alexis, I didn't mean for it to happen that way. I was trying to help because.." I cut him off.

"Just stop Jason, I don't need your pity. I just want to go home. Please." I said, my eyes watering from the memory.

"Just.." He said, but I cut him off again. Not wanting to hear what he had to say.

"Please Jason" I pleaded once more.

With a sigh, he started the engine and began to drive. 15 minutes into the drive I began to fall asleep, and then I heard him mutter. "I was just trying to kill the spider on your cheek."

What?!?!

That was the last thing I heard before I fell asleep.
