(4) Funeral

Kimiko's POV

It's been four days since Kurama attacked, since Kushina and Minato died, since....... My father died.

After Kurama was sealed into Naruto the third hokage and multiple ANBU had come to see what had happened. I had to explain that Minato sealed Kurama and told me to take care of Naruto. The hokage aloud me to be his guardian of I had an adult present and Naruto wasn't aloud to live with me until I was old enough. I had agreed to the conditions because I'm only 5 years old I can't take care of a baby. Everyone who had a family member die during the attack was there. Right now I'm holding Naruto, he was sleeping but looked uncomfortable, probably because of the terrible atmosphere. I sigh and try to make him relax. He only was able to relax a little but he was still uncomfortable. I look over to my left to see Fugaku talking to another clan member I could hear them whisper by i hanging my chakra to my ears. The clan member had been informing Fugaku of something. "....... Izumi Uchiha has gained the Sharingan...." I can't believe that Izumi got it! I'm proud but also sad, because I was the one who always trained to be powerful while she was playing and she has gotten it before me........... Maybe she is the superior twin..... I look down with a sad expression clear on my face. Everything has been going wrong...... I look to the pictures of everyone who died. I quickly found my fathers picture. 'I have failed father....... I'm still weak, I'm sorry I could prove my strength.' I think to myself remembering all the times my father has spent training me to be the strongest female kunoichi in the hidden leaf but I can't even obtain the Sharingan. I look up to see gray clouds and rain quickly falling down to earth. Hn it never rains, only on funerals, how queer. I look over to Izumi to see her looking around but guilt was all over her face. She blames herself for fathers death........... I wish I could just tell her everything will be alright but I can't..... The Uchiha clan had found out that the leaf village wants them to move to the outskirts of the village. I don't know the full reason but they think the attack had something to do with us. I thought it was stupid. Why would the Uchiha attempt to destroy konoha? First of all we were one of the founding clans of this village! Second the head was best friends with lord fourth! Why would he make a plan that included hurting the fourths wife that was also best friends with Mikoto? It could have been a rogue Uchiha or someone who had stolen the Sharingan eye. Tch I find the council of this village quite annoying and arrogant.

After the funeral the sun can back up and people got to work on rebuilding the parts of the village that was destroyed and the Uchiha started making plans on the new compound. I couldn't really do anything to help so I took Naruto on a walk to the park. He had been his happy self as soon as the sun came back up. I smile at his behavior, he acts just like Kushina. I play a little with his hair that looked exactly like Minato's, funny he is a carbon copy of Minato but acts exactly like Kushina. I play with him for awhile longer but every time an adult passed us they would give me and Naruto glares. They gave Naruto glares because he was the jinchuriki but he can't help that! And they give me glares because I was there when lord fourth died and didn't do anything. I'm a 5 year old for god sake. I ignore the glares until I hear a familiar voice. "Hey Kimiko. Who's that?" I look up to see Itachi and an unfamiliar boy next to him. The boy looked about 8-9 years old. He had spiky black hair and black eyes. He also had stress marks which was surprising for someone so young, but I can't really judge, the only reason I don't have stress marks is because my mother always stopped me from worrying to much, but I am now starting to develop them. "This is Naruto, he is the jinchuriki of the nine tail, but I'm taking care of him because his parents in trusted me with him. Who is that Itachi?" I ask. Itachi looks at Naruto in a questioning manner but let's it slide. "This is S-" He was interrupted by the boy next to him. "Hey my names Shisui, Shusui Uchiha! Nice to finally meet ya Kimiko!" I look at him in confusion but I finally get it. He is the other prodigy. I nod trying to say. 'Nice to meet you to.' "So what are you doing here?" I ask. I look into Itachi's arms to see Sasuke. I smile as I look at him. He makes little noises which got Naruto making them as well. It had sounded like they were talking in their own little language. I smile a little observing the cute babies. Itachi answered for the duo. "We were walking around cause we can't really do anything while the adults are re-building the village." I nod understanding. "Would you like to join us?" He asked. I thought for a moment. I mean it would be nice to talk to someone my age and I have nothing else to do, so I might as well. "Sure." I stood up. We walked for while just talking about ourselves. I had found out Shisui is Itachi's best friend and that he was a pretty nice person. After about an hour of walking Shisui had to go to 'something'. He made it sound weird but I let it slide. A few minutes after he left we ran into Izumi. "Hey nee-chan! Itachi! What's up?" "We were walking around with Sasuke and Naruto." I answered for the two of us. Izumi nodded and looked at Sasuke. "Can I hold him?" She asks pointing at the baby. I look down at Sasuke to see him glaring at her and holding on to Itachi. "No." Itachi simply stated. Izumi pouted. "Why not?" She asked. "I don't want him to cry." Izumi doesn't listen to him and picks up Sasuke. "Your not gonna cry are you?" She asks. The second Sasuke was in her hands he started crying and trying to push away from her. I sigh and picked Sasuke up and bounced him a little to calm him down. While I was doing this Izumi had a dumbfounded look on her face. "There there Sasuke." I told him in a sweet voice while giving him my finger to play with. "Ah~" A cute noise erupted from him making me smile even more. "Ah!" Naruto started to get fussy. I gave Sasuke back to Itachi and put my attention back to Naruto. "Well I need to start going back Sasuke is getting hungry good bye." Itachi stated leaving the little group we had. I muttered a good bye as Izumi gave a huge smile and repeated my words. I looked at Naruto. He was smiling a bright smile showing he had no teeth. And he also was showing off his whiskers. Yeah I know it's unusual but I think it suits him. "Hey Kimiko who's that?" Izumi asks. Oh yeah I haven't shown her Naruto. "This is Naruto, remember I told you about him." She looked deep in thought and finally seemed to have recognized him. "Oh yeah! Nice to meet you Naruto!" She exclaims. Naruto being a little more social then Sasuke he smiles back at Izumi. "Kya~! So cute!! And he's so much nicer then Sasuke....." She mumbles the last part. I smile at her behavior. My sister hasn't changed at all. "Hey it's getting late and Naruto has had a big day, do you want to drop him off with me?" I asked her. She nods and walks with me to the hospital where Naruto is going to be taken care of until he is 3. Yup 3 years and then they are just gonna leave him to take care of himself. I believe it is an extremely stupid decision but I can't really do anything can I? We stroll through the village seeing people working but stop and stare at us in disgust. After about ten minutes of walking we make it to the village's hospital. We enter and go to the maternity ward where Naruto is going to be staying for awhile. I walk into the room he is staying at and give him to the nurse he was assigned to. The nurse was a girl in her early twenties. She looked like she was raised in a safe environment and always given what she wanted. I could tell she didn't even want to touch Naruto and also disliked me, which I return because I disliked her. She takes him to a counter in the room and feeds him from a bottle. She does it carefully knowing I was in the room and she could lose her job if I told the third hokage that she was abusing him. Yeah they didn't pick a new hokage they just kept lord third. When she was done she patted him and put him in the little cradle he had in the room. I was satisfied with what she did so I left with Izumi to go to our house. "So how do you feel about moving?" I asked Izumi. "Well I don't think it's the bests time. To many things have been happening and for them just to say this out of the blue is weird but I guess we have to follow orders." She answered surprisingly mature. I nod in agreement. "Yeah they say it will take about two weeks to build a new compound and then we have to move in." I sigh. "This will be so troublesome." I mutter to myself as my sister giggles at what I had said. "Well this is our future however troublesome it may be." My sister concluded.
