Never Again

Chapter 4: Downtown Date

When I got back from the barbecue I told my parents about it but I obviously left out the kiss. I did tell them he asked me out and we were gonna have our first date. I told them that he's going to take me downtown and show me all the places he likes to hang out with friends.

On our date I decided to wear jean shorts and a t-shirt, I put my hair up into a pony tail and grabbed my purse. In my purse I put Chapstick, $20, and my cell phone.

Cody got to my house around 11:30 and we went to lunch.

"So where are we going for lunch?" I asked as he helped me into his car, did I forget to mention that he's a sophomore.

"Well I was thinking that we could go to Burger King and sit and talk for a little bit then just walk around downtown for a while." He started the car then leaned over and kissed me, just like that. I wasn't expecting it but I've got to admit it felt good to kiss him again.

"Sounds fun. I heard about this shop called the t-shirt factory, do you think we could go there?" I asked as he pulled out of the driveway.

"Yeah we could go there if you want. We could also do go-carts and the mirror maze if you would want to."

"That sounds fun."

When we got to Burger King and sat down with our food we talked for like a half hour. He told me about himself and his family, he told me that he had a brother. When he was 10 his brother got into a car accident and passed away at the hospital.

"I'm really sorry about your brother." I took a sip of my root beer.

"It's not your fault, but he's in a better place now." He wiped his eyes so I stood up and sat next to him in the booth. We sat there for a few minutes then we got up and walked outside.

"Okay so where are we gonna go first?" I asked as we leaned against the front of his car.

"Where would you like to go?" He grabbed my hand and we stood there well we both thought about what to do.

"I've got it! Why don't we go back to your house, you grab your swimsuit and we go to a waterpark!" He said with excitement.

"Sounds good to me." I said and got back in the car.

We drove back to my house and I ran inside trying to avoid my parents and all the questions they'll probably have. When I got into my room my mom was in there. Damn it!!

"Back already?" She asked as she hung up some of my clothes.

"No Cody and I are gonna go to a waterpark so I came back to grab my swimsuit and cover-up."

"Oh sounds fun. What waterpark?"

"I don't know we will probably figure that out in the car." I grabbed my swimsuit and started to leave the room when my mom yelled out to me.

"Have fun and don't forget sunscreen!!!"

When I got back to the car Cody was sitting at the end of the driveway.

"I'm ready to go, and ummm what water park are we gonna go to?" I asked and got in the car.

He stood up and got in the car and just as he started to back out he stopped.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

That's when he leaned over and kissed me again. He put his hand on the side of my head and put his fingers in my hair.

"I just love kissing you." He said as he kissed me again. Then he started driving again.

When he said this I couldn't help but smile, this guy chose to ask ME out, I still couldn't believe it. This was a dream come true.
