Don't Back Down

Challenge

The day finally came around where I could finally challenge him. James and I were nervous about even staying the night there, and THEN challenge the next day. I couldn't help but feel a bit anxious.
A little later, a young girl came in and informed us that everyone was ready, and where to go. So we set off, and found the arena, packed with people.
My father stood on a stand in the middle of the dirt arena, and there was an open spot next to him. I noticed it was my place, so I carefully, but confidently walked over to it.
I nodded my head in James direction to show him that he needed to sit down. And so as I got to the stand, he sat in the bleachers.
A loud gong went off, and the Alpha suddenly silenced everyone. I stood next to him, as he spoke loudly to the members. "First competition is archery!" He announced.
An older man, Malec, if I remember correctly, came up to us with the bows and a quiver.
Targets were placed at least 50 yards in front of us, and out of the 6 arrows, two overlapped each other on my side. The Alpha, on the other hand, had three in the center of the target. I had yet to shoot my third one. But I knew I was going to beat him in almost everything.
'This isn't even a real challenge like, at all.' I mind linked James. He laughed in response. Now if I could just, Aha! Got four in the same place! He has five in the center. Man, he really must not like to take his time.
Eventually we got down to our last turns and shot. I made four in the same place, and two next to them. He was spread out a little in the center, but one missed, so I won.
Time skip
It finally came down to the annual fist fight that distinguishes the winner. It's death, or win. "Don't back down!" I yelled at him. You remember those movies with the villains and heroes? Where they circled each other? That's what was going on here.
"I won't fight you!" He finally yelled. "You will!" I said furious. That made him upset, so he just threw a punch. The sloppy throw ended in him being on the ground with a bloody nose from my fist. "I challenged a great leader! And this is what I get?" I yelled. He stood up and attempted to kick me down. I jumped up, but when my feet hit the ground again, I went falling to my knees.
   He hovered over me for a minute as I looked up at him. "I will NOT fight you! I cared and STILL care about you! I don't want to hurt you!" He said.
   I stood back up after he said that, but he howled in pain. He spun around to face someone, and I saw a large arrow protruding from his back. He looked straight up at a older man with a large bow and a few arrows. "Gr-Gr-Greyson?" He stuttered.
   The man looked him dead in the eye as he fired another arrow. Soon after, James found his way over there. He attacked the man, killing him without a mess. I stood there in utter shock as all of the members scattered and tried to get away.
   "SILENCE!" I growled. A whole lot of noise soon cut off, and the only sound was the coughing of the shot man. I walked slowly up to him, and crouched next to him. He touched at his wound and winced a bit. Then held up his hand for me to come closer.
   As I leaned on a bit more, I felt his warm blood on his fingers that were touched to my forehead. Soon after, it was dabbed on my chin, then spread out on my cheeks.
   Everyone knew what this meant. And several people started chanting. It was around the time that the moon was highest in the sky, that the blood began to glow.
   'When the blood of the Alpha is spilled, a new will be born. By the moons highest place, the new shall be blessed.'
   I sat in utter shock, and waited for what felt like ever when everyone was done.
   A burning feeling in my right shoulder blade put me back onto the ground. As I attempted a scream of agony, another person went down. I looked up, and it was James. As he fell, everything faded into pure blackness.
   Everything disappeared.

Hey guys!! So I'm not so sure I want to end it here. I think I'll make a second book instead... I don't know. Maybe continue it more? Well ummmm let me know what you guys would like for this story!
