7 months later....

William's p.o.v

Today was the Charlotte's birthday. So as a surprise birthday gift, I decided to present her with tickets for her favourite play.

I was supposed to pick her up at seven but I was running late so I had to drive to her house which wasn't that far-just a few streets away from my home.

Her house was very neat and nicely furnished. I met her parents and her sister, Cara, there several times and they were very nice to me.

Her mother worked as a vet while her dad worked as a teacher at a school nearby. They seemed like a happy family unlike mine.

I sighed when I thought about it, my gaze fixed on the road still.

Dad still hasn't moved on from mom after 2 years. He's acts like he's fine when in reality, he isn't. He would just sit in his room once he came back from work and watched the grandfather clock in his room.

He doesn't drink to ease his pain. He would just watch the clock tick. He wasn't the same dad who raised me.

He looked miserable.

"Are you okay? You look sad." Charlotte's voice made me snap out of my thoughts.

I grabbed the stirring wheel of dad's old mini cooper a bit harder before relaxing my hands and answering Charlotte with a yes.

That thankfully silenced her and she didn't venture on with more questions.

"Would you like to hear a few songs?" I asked her when it was too silent.

I glanced at her to see her response. She was wearing light makeup and a black sequinned dress that hugged her figure paired with black stilettos. Her hair was pulled up into a neat bun with a few curls behind her ears.

Unfortunately the dress showed more cleavage than I'd liked but than again she was mine so I was the only one who could fuck with them in bed.

She nodded her head so I started playing the first song which was 'Six Degrees Of Separation'.

The music began playing, filling up the silence between Charlotte and I.

In the middle of the song Charlotte spoke,"I like this song."

"How come?" I asked for no reason.

I guess the thoughts of my dad just make my brain mushy so I just said whatever I wanted without thinking.

"Has a catchy tune. What they say is true you know?" she answered and shuffled in her seat to look at me.

"Have you ever gone through a break up?" she suddenly questioned.

"Nope because I never had a proper girlfriend like you." I answered, focusing my gaze on the road ahead of us.

"Why is that?" she asked, venturing more about me.

Too be honest, she didn't know much about my family- the main reason why I despised love which led me to slipping with sluts.
