Eleven year old Mr. Potter confidently strutted down the aisle of the infamous Hogwarts Express. His confidence had gotten him into loads of trouble back at home and he wasn't to worried about it portraying at Hogwarts. His family had been going there for decades and it seemed like home to him already. As James Potter wandered down the aisle he eyed his soon to be peers finding their friends after summers away and said their goodbyes to teared up family members. To him they all looked the same, eager, new clothes with everything tucked in precisely. He wasn't to fond of people at this time, he just enjoyed pissing them off. In fact he slowed down enough in the most crowded part of the train, waited for a build up of people, then bent down to untie his shoe then re-tie it. Smiling at the sighs that quickly followed he hadn't noticed the parting of the crowd as our very own miss Lily Evans practically marched down the mass of people as if they were nothing but dust. As Mr. Potter returned to his standing position, he came face to face with little miss Evans. The staring that followed was something to be documented, 50% of the lurking eyes thought they were going to kiss whilst the other 50% thought Lily was going to punch poor James. Neither of them were correct in their assumptions as the wide eyed (soon to be lovers) pair began the awkward side stepping, mumbling curse words, red faces commenced. After a few minutes of this Lily stopped dead still and grabbed poor James by the shoulders. She then proceeded to walk him to the other side of the aisle and letting him go. Before continuing of her way she glanced red faced James up and down. Her eyes meeting his and then finally she turned and strutted to an empty compartment. Mr. Potter crossed his arms, licked his lips, then spun on his heels to continue looking for a place to sit. After just aimlessly walking around, the train began to move and he just now realized that the aisles were empty, he was the only one outside of the compartments. Without thinking he quickly opened the closest compartment door and sat down. After putting his small bag underneath his ragged seat his eyes met grey ones. The boy sitting across from young Mr. Potter had black hair that ran just past his ears, he was quite small and his outfit was most definitely not new. "James Potter" James confidently muttered as he extended his arm to the boy. "Black, Sirius Black." As the two gently shook hands, James had the audacity to remark "Are you Sirius." And thus followed five minutes of James chuckling to himself, the endless roll of Sirius Blacks eyes, and a friendship for the ages.
