Chapter 4
I lay my head on my desk, not bothering to listen to the annoying fat teacher with dark hairy armpits. I mean, seriously? Has she ever heard of wax or a shaver? I bet on my Nutella, that my butt is even whiter than her dark cave called 'armpits'.
"Ms. Quinn, would you like to give me the answer for number 10? I thought you wouldn't mind since you're enjoying your deep slumber right there," Ms. Bagels challenged as she stared at me and smiled slyly. Don't ask me why her last name is like that. I really have no idea. But I think it should be burnt bagels.
"I'd rather not. What about you? Would you like to join the dark armpits club?" I stared at her smugly. " Looks like you really need it." With that, the class burst into laughter and then the bell rang. I guess I was saved by the bell. I didn't think I needed another detention for today. I just wanted to go home and sleep like a baby.
I grabbed my bag and walked out of the room, but not before gaining a glare from Ms. Burnt. Oh, whatever. I pushed my way through the crowded, stinky hallway, scrunching my nose in disgust. It seems like a lot of people forgot to wear deodorant today. I breathed out a sigh of a relief when I finally reached my destination: the library. You must be thinking, a girl like me, in a library? Of course. This is the only place where I can have my peace of mind.
I pushed the glass door open and the familiar ringing of bells echoed throughout the silent room. I scanned the area to see that no one besides the librarian was here. I sighed. If there was a party here, I'm sure this place would be filled up. I ambled to the bookshelves to find a certain book entitled "Pride and Prejudice". I already read this book and watched the movie several times, but I just couldn't seem to get enough of it. I sighed mentally; if only I could meet my own modern Mr. Darcy. He was intelligent, blunt, and loyal to his family and to his friends, caring, a good listener, a gentleman, and had a good reputation. What more could a girl ask for?
"Hello? Earth to clumsy girl?" I snapped back to reality to see the infamous Will Conrad waving his hand in front of my face that earned him a glare from me.
"What?" I uttered coldly, but still kept a stone face.
"Nothing. You zoned out a bit there. I was just concerned," he replied, smiling at me with sincerity in his eyes. Yeah, right. Don't act as if you care. I nod at him once and went back on reading.
"Mind if I sit here with you?" I ignored him. Maybe if I do, he would just go the fuck away and mind his business. I heard someone pulling out a chair and sat beside me. Ignore him, Harriet.
"So, what are you reading?"
