I wanted to leave immediately, I had seen Ryan in the hallway. Ryan Ross... my ex boyfriend was attending this school. I can't even remember the reason we broke up, but I know things haven't been exactly nice between us ever since that day.
I entered the Social Studies classroom which was pretty overwhelming because my cousin, E, kept screaming my name and telling me to sit next to her. I obeyed, mainly because I saw Ryan on the other side of the room. "Brendon," she whispered as I sat down, "I hardly remember how I know him, but Jessica introduced me to a guy named Ryan...weren't you guys friends a while back?" I gulped, she already met Ryan... and apparently he was already friends with Jessica.
I let out a chuckle, "Ha ha... ha... n-no what? What are you talking about? You must be crazy,, w-why would I know someone named Ryan? That's just... um... preposterous." I tried acting like my normal self, y'know, using big words since I'm #professional, but for some reason I think I sounded a bit awkward. E just stared at me. "Whatever you say, Bren...hey are you okay?" she asked. "TOTAALLLY FINE!!!" I screamed, instantly covering my mouth because I'm pretty sure everyone heard. I wasn't really worried about making a fool out of myself... I just didn't want Ryan to know I was here, but now I guess I blew my cover. "YOOO YOU GOT A GREAT VOCAL RANGE!" I looked up to a guy with a fedora and glasses. "Can I sit down?" He asked. E nodded, then the fedora guy and his friend with sunglasses sat down.
"Patrick!" the fedora guy said shaking E's hand, "And this is Andy." Andy just waved. He looked cool with his shades. E pointed to me, "that's Brendon," she started, "He's kind of on edge today since it's his first day. Heh, I didn't know he got so nervous." I looked at my hands surrounded by a pool of sweat on the table. "Man, aren't you sweaty," Patrick got up to get some tissues for me and started wiping up my mess. "T-thanks Pat." I stuttered. Patrick just laughed.
I then felt a tap on the shoulder and turned around to see...Ryan.
"Brendon, we have to talk... meet me outside after class," he said in a serious tone. He sounded like a freaking teacher, but I just slowly nodded.
The class went by so slowly, and I'm pretty sure E had noticed that something was wrong so she stopped bothering me. All I wanted to do was talk to Ryan.
Finally the bell rang and I followed Ryan outside. "What?" I asked. "Stop ignoring me!" he snapped.
MY eyes widened, they were now the size of the moon. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN I'M IGNORING YOU? AND I HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO!" I spat. Ryan burst into tears, "WhY did you stop talking to me like that?! You just left me, without saying anything!" "What?" I exclaimed, "You're the one that left me a break up note that just said 'bye brendon'." Ryan started laughing, "YOU IDIOT! That wasn't a break up note, that was the note I left you when I went to Hawaii with my family for a week."
My rage had disappeared. I felt my face turn red with embarrassment. "What..?" I mumbled, "ARE YOU TELLING ME I CRIED IN MY ROOM FOR FOUR MONTHS FOR NOTHING?!"
Ryan nodded, "Yeah well I cried for five months so beat that... and I was crying just now."
I wrapped my arms around Ryan and we hugged. It felt so good being cool with him again.
"Wait...we are together right?" Ryan asked.
At that moment I remembered I had a girlfriend.
Ellie Jackson.
I suddenly backed away from Ryan.
"Brendon?" He asked.
"No... not yet!" Was all I said before I ran off.
